Ok, so we''re approaching the 4.5 month mark and I''m about to start traveling a bit for work for the next month or so. So, I would really like to figure out what to do about the guys clothing. When it comes to men''s formalwear, I''m a bit clueless and am hoping for a little help. FI can''t decide between suits or tuxes, but he knows that he doesn''t like the look of vests all that much. All that matters to me is that they be in chocolate brown. I''m ordering ties made out of the same material as the bridesmaid dresses for the groomsment (turquoise) that I''d like them to wear (not sure about FI''s tie yet). In terms of formality, I would say it''s semi-formal. It''s being held outdoors with a tented reception. I''ll be wearing an organdy dress with a lace bodice that doesn''t have any embellishments and the girls will be in silk shatung dresses with simple silhouettes. I can post pics if you need them.

So, can you wear a tux without a vest, or does that basically make it the same as a suit? Would either tuxes or suits be more appropriate than the other?

My understanding is that if you wear a tux, you should wear either a vest or a cumberbund. I''m not a huge fan of vests either, especially ones that come up very high on the chest. I like to see the shirt pleats. So I don''t know if I''ll have fiance wear a cumberbund or a low vest. I''m thinking of black tuxes with white or ivory tie for fiance, and black tuxes with black ties for the groomsmen. I like the classic look and fiance wants to look "Like James Bond"

I think you could definitely use suits with the formality of your wedding though. Actually, that would have been my preference, but fiance is stuck on the tuxedos. It will probably be easier to find a chocolate brown suit rather than a chocolate brown tux, too.
