Can anyone help me? I''m so frustrated. What do I do to make a photo smaller in iPhoto on my Mac? I''d really like to post more pics of my sapphire ring, etc.

THANKS!

IG,

I am on a Mac too and superfrustrated...this is the solution I have so far...(1st I think there might be an FAQ on this on one of the threads - but this is the shortcut for a quick fix). I open the jpeg in "Preview" the little icon with the picture and the kind of loupe looking thing - I hit "Save As" - rename the photo and reduce the quality from whatever it is on to get it to below 100Kb (I don''t think it compromises the pics too much - this is how I have been able to post my pics so you can check out the quality there) - and save it. Also, if you want to maintain some of the clarity of the original --- in Preview you can also in "Edit" or "Tools" there is a "Select" function - highlight the area you want, "Copy", "Open New" in Preview and "Paste" - if it is still too big - do the aforementioned "Save As" reducing quality. I hope this helps and I hope to see more pics of your sapphire and the rest!!!!

Thanks so much Jennifer! Here goes. Wish me luck.

I have a Mac..I just resize them when I export out of iphoto. give them a unique name and change the dimentions to 400 X 250 or whatever it autofills. works every time.

I do the same thing mrssalvo does.

When you are looking at the picture in iPhoto, go to the header that says Share and then scroll down to Export. I then choose a smaller size, give it a funny name and export it to my desktop.

(Duh, I just realized you probably figured this out since there are pics of your garnet ring up, but I''ll post just in case this is extra helpful!

Yup, this is the best option!

Yay! thanks. I was using Jennifer B''s method (Plan B?) but I''ll now try the ''export'' function.

I''ve now posted handshots of the diamond and sapphire ring and my Tiffany garnet. This is fun!
