I’ve been inspired by Roger Dery’s Gem Fool’s Day activities this week. That, coupled with my excitement about my new gem, has inspired this post. (I’m not the best at photos, though, so please bear with me.)

Can you guess this gem?

Copper bearing tourmaline? I have one in a similar hue but a lighter tone.

My gut tells me it's beryl.

Googled maxixe beryl after my first post and found the above stone.

I have morganites and recognize the sparkle, which is less than a sapphire but not less beautiful in any way, I can't explain, beryl is wondeful.

Yes I love pastel sapphires, but couldn’t splurge on one in the size I prefer so this was my next bet. I hope to get a rose gold setting reminiscent of the picture below.

Your stone is beautiful and the choice of metal colour for the setting seems right. Either that or a silver colour metal will work perfectly.
