So if misysu2 doesn''t mind terribly, I had inspiration hit me after looking at her guest book. I was thinking about making my own guest book with prints and/or photos that fit with our theme. To do this I thought we could use a scrapbook or album. So does anyone know what size scrapbooks or albums are if they''re big ones? Obviously don''t want it to be too big, but I am not the scrapbooking type so I thought I would ask. What size prints/photos should I try to collect/look for? Any advice would be great!

Of course I don''t mind!
I recently bought a blank scrapbook for some family photos, and it held pages 12" x 12". Not sure what the other standard sizes are. The cool thing about them is that you can pick your own page color, and there are whole "sets", if you will, of themed 12 x 12 pages with matching patterns on them. see here:

What''s the theme of your wedding and/or reception? Are you going to shoot your own photos?

Yaay!

I think that might be the standard size, yep. I am thinking the theme will be Spring in Japan, so I might use some of my own photos with a combination of prints and photos I buy. What do you think?

Hi Sarah,

I haven''t looked at misy''s guestbook yet, but my friend did something fun a few years ago...

Her colors were turquoise and brown, so as part of her favors, she ordered personalized metallic gel pens in blue and a sort of coppery/amber color. She then put a different engagement picture on each and mounted them on 12" X 12" dark brown cardstock. There was one on each table with a note as to what to do with them (and the DJ reminded everyone) to please write a note to the bride and groom. They turned out awesome and she instantly had a guestbook/photo album that turned out beautifully! I think she had about 20 tables, so she had a 20-page book when it was all said and done...it was great!

Hope that helps!

Ooh I like that idea, too! Thanks Harleigh!!

You''re very welcome! I''m glad I could help out!

I like the idea so much myself that I''m trying to figure out a way to do this, too, but I can''t figure out how to do it both in Maui and then again at our reception as the reception will be an all-day, come and go kind of affair without actual table assignments!

Hmmm..maybe you could make two. One for Maui and one for the reception? And just kind spread the one out for the reception near the entrance maybe with a little sign requesting that well-wishers leave messages?

You can also make a photobook and use that as a guestbook. They look really professional. You can make them off of shutterfly or other photo sites.

Or I''ve heard of people doing a polaroid guestbook, where you leave a polaroid beside the guestbook and guests take a picture of themselves, paste it into the guestbook and sign beside. That could be a fun idea too.
