I like the back and would''ve liked it if I just went in there with no idea what I wanted.

But it looks nothing like the picture I brought in and it''s posted on a couple other threads of mine. I can''t find it though.

Courtney, it''s beautiful!! I love your hair and makeup! I can see where you''d be somewhat disappointed if the hair style ended up not looking like what you envisioned, but honestly, it looks really great.

Courtney, the hair pins look GREAT, and I love the back of your hair! Do you think you''re going to stick with it, or try to get it more like you wanted? And your skin, it looks absolutely flawless!!! Who did your makeup?!? I love it, and you are going to look SOOOO beautiful at your wedding!
 
Courtney! I went for my hair trial and my hair turned out nothing like what I wanted but it turned out exactly like yours!!! I think it looks much better on you than it did me! I honestly think it looks wonderful! And I LOVE the make-up! Is it airbrush or actual make-up?

I love your makeup - you look gorgeous! I can see from the link from Freke that the hair look you were going for was quite different, so I would try and get the hairstyle that I wanted. If I hadn''t seen that you were going for a different look, I would have said I loved the hair too.
 
your makeup looks fantastic!! it really photographs well.

is your hair naturally curly? or would the stylist need to make it curl to get the style you want? i would think if it''s naturally curly it wouldn''t be too hard to get the style you wanted. did you tell the stylist that it wasn''t really what you were hoping for? i think it looks great from the front, but i''m a little iffy about the back...that piece that sweeps across on the top is nice but it kind of looks like a loose piece of hair that fell to the side to me....just doesn''t look like that''s what it''s SUPPOSED to do.

and i vote for more pouf!! i know it looks funny in the mirror, but it really photographs wonderfully! maybe next time take a couple pics before you decide whether it''s too poufy?

Remember it was just a trial, there is always time to go back and make adjustments!

karasue91 - my hair is not naturally curly, but it looks from the desired picture that she would just need to do pin curls and then section them, pull it into a low ponytail, and fold it under. She seemed in a hurry, mentioned that style looked challenging, and I also didn''t tell her that I wanted it exactly like the picture. I told her I liked the curly, soft look of the picture. I did call her afterwards and told her my concern. She said she''d do it exactly like the picture if that''s what I wanted. She would have more time and if I didn''t like something, she would fix it. I feel like requesting another trial at no or a discounted price. I paid $50 for something I don''t like. I took it down when I got home. The pics of my makeup, my hair is in a ponytail.

I got my makeup done at Mac and I love how it turned out! I brought the girl a picture and she looked exactly like it. I love not feeling ripped off there since you buy the $50 in makeup in turn for the makeup application. I''m using the same girl on the day of.

I love the hair too!!!! I originally wanted more puff in my hair do and the hair dresser just didn''t do it. At the end I am glad because it looked so elegant and with everything else going on (dress, veil, hair accessories, etc) too much puff can sometimes just look odd.

It looks lovely. Especially the makeup which looks flawless. But seeing the hair style you wanted, and seeing what you got (which is still beautiful) I can see the dissapointment.

Or should I start all over and go to a whole new person who is maybe a little more professional and not in a hurry? I feel that she could''ve been a little more professional, but I also feel that I should''ve told her "THIS is exactly what I want my hair to look like".

I think the picture you posted was beautiful but if you wanted something else, the stylist should be more than obliging to your requests. $50 for something you did not want is $50 she owes you. If she seemed to be busy when she did your hair the first time, when you make the second appointment I would kindly ask for a time slot when she is clear and free to take time on your hairstyle. If there was just some misunderstanding about what you wanted, I could probably just ask for a discount but if she was really unprofessional I would try to get it for free. If she gives you any flack about any of this, I would find someone highly recommended by friends, online reviews, etc. and see if you can find someone more suited to your wants and needs. You wouldn''t want an un-professional on the day of your wedding! Hope this helps...I think you know what you want to do but you don''t want to seem too picky or like you''re trying to get something for nothing (I''ve been in your situation for regular hair services) but you are 100% entitled to get what you pay for and wanted.

I love the make up and the hair is nice, but if it is not what you want, back to the drawing board. With photos it should be a lot easier.

But you look great even if you are not loving the hair!

I just caught this thread, and I have to say, you are gorgeous!

I see what you mean about the back of your hair not looking anything like the picture, though I still think it is lovely!

Your makeup turned out beautifully! Those are very similar eye colors to what I wear, as well.
