i need some opinions on what time i should have my hair appt scheduled for. my wedding is at 11am. i have 4 bridesmaids who are doing their own hair & my moh is an esthetician & is doing everyone's makeup in the hotel room (including mine). so, it's only me & my mom who are getting our hair done. and i have no clue how long to allot for getting ready time...someone please help!

How far do you have to drive for the appointment?
I say 7AM but check with the hairdresser. You need time to get your hair done (1.5 hrs?), drive to the hotel, get your makeup done. get dressed, drive to the wedding.....jeeze,maybe even earlier???

Do you have a photographer coming before the ceremony too?

i was thinking 7am too. the hair place is super close to the hotel (like mins away) & the church is about 5-10 mins away. so, it's all relatively close. as for the photog, he's arriving the night before but i'm not sure if i'll be hope for "getting ready" photos. i'm not much of a morning person (unfortunately 11am is thelatest mass time for a saturday wedding at our church) & feel like we're already going to be running around & stressing a bit more than i'd like to on my wedding morning, i think photography might add to the stressed, rushed feeling but i would like some pics of me getting in my dress....anyway, i'm rambling now.

I think 7 am is the best too. My hair apt is at about 1 for a 6pm ceremony. My photographer will not be there for that, she will be there for the "final" getting ready pictures (i.e. me stepping into the dress). I was told it would take about 1.5 hours to do my hair.

I would suggest asking your hairdresser how long it'll take to do your hair, since it'll depend on how complicated or fancy of a style you and your mom are going for, how much hair you have, etc. But a ballpark that I've typically seen is about 20-30 minutes for moms, 30-45 minutes for bridesmaids, and closer to 1.5 hours for brides. But it really just depends on your actual hairdresser.

Good Luck! I think we're starting at 7am too, but we're doing hair and makeup at the house, aiming to be done by 11:30am so we can head to the church to get all dressed up.
