I''m hoping you lovely ladies can help me find some inspiration pics for hair pins and maybe some great places to find the supplies (jewelry wire, pearls, crystals, etc) to make them. I know for sure that I do NOT want a tiara or tiara-like comb for my wedding updo, so what I''ve been considering is a soft french twist (or something similar) with hair pins tucked along the side(s). I''m still hunting for the perfect veil, but I''ve narrowed it down to something single layered (plus maybe a blusher) and very sheer to wear high on my head above my hair. I like the idea of something pretty in my hair that can be seen through the veil, plus I''ll take the veil off for the reception. I have yet to find the perfect hair pins, and there''s no way I''m paying 40-100 bucks apiece when I know there has GOT to be a way I can make them myself for much less.

Thanks!!

For supplies, a local bead shop is going to be your best option although I have gotten some good deals on beads from Ebay.

I know they are probably still more than you wanted to spend, but the little guys are $30 each.

This site, Hair Comes the Bride, sells the super expensive ones, but would be a good inspiration site. I bought some from them, and it was basically a hair pin, with silver wire and metal flowers with rhinestone cystals. Totally doable, if you have the crafty gene (I don''t!). Bead shops, bead shows, or even the Intergem gem and jewelry shows (if you live near one) would be the best possibilities for finding the supplies.
