I wish I were back in grade school again. I would send everyone here one of those cheesy pre-packaged Valentines.

I hope someone brings a little extra love to you today, and I hope that you bring a little extra love to someone else who may need it. (Who doesn''t need a little extra love in February?)

When I got to work this morning, one of my co-workers had left a little pink ceramic heart-shaped ramekin full of chocolate on my desk. swoon! She''s a doll. DH and I don''t really do much for it, but it was such a treat to see the surprise! I guess that''s the best part, really... the surprise... and with V-day it''s often so "expected" from a loved one that it doesn''t have quite the same thrill I guess. That''s my take on it anyway. I too miss the construction paper covered "mailboxes" full of tiny little envelopes!

What a great thread! Happy Love Fest Day everyone!

I did!! I did!! I did!!....I bought some cheap cheesey Valentines...personalized them and put them in a little hand made bag with a mail slot and put hubbies name on the bag. AWh....it was so precious. He woke to find it this morning.

I remember back in grade school we spent the morning of Valentines Day with a plain white sack...we decorated our very own...markers, paint, glitter, paper dollies, and then a little before lunch we all went to the wall and attached the open sacks side by side along the wall. Teacher would have us all go outside and line up ...and one by one individually we went back inside and walked the wall placing our special valentines in the bags. Of course we gave to each and every class mate...but there were a few that had special secret mystery! (you might underline REALLY in I really love you) Oh I loved VDAY.

After recess we returned to the room completely decorated by the room mothers...cupcakes, cookies and goodies on each desk. Lots of sugary icing pinks and reds...(that was before children had allergies-or parents had sense) and our special personalized sack was on our desks. Ohhhhh. I love VDAY.

I hope each of you have a fond memory too, and will make even more today! Share the LOVE!

Happy Valentine''s Day to all the great PS''ers! Life wouldn''t be the same without you.

DH and I started celebrating our 50th Valentine''s Day together early. I had to go to the lab for bloodwork and when I came home there were long-stemmed red roses, some Valentine cookies and gift bag. I thought we had agreed not to buy each other a gift so I had nothing except a card for him.

We went to our favourite restaurant for lunch and splurged: lobster tail with rack of lamb for DH and lobster tail and a small steak for me. Wow! Was it ever delicious washed down by some great wine and topped with a shared dessert of upside down pineapple cake and coffee! My leftovers will be "dinner" tonight.

I wish everyone a wonderful, special Valentine''s day.

Thanks, DKS. I didn''t realize until today that it was actually 50 years!! We both love any occasion to celebrate so we''ve done something a little special for each of them. On the first, I was just 15 and FH gave me a gift.....of baby doll pyjamas (anyone remember those?)

My parents insisted that I return them, but I refused saying that it''s bad manners to return a gift.

I thought my mother would have a stroke, she was sooo upset

On April 6th, we''ll have been married 45 years!! Believe me, no one would have predicted that.

My HH baked me pumpkin muffins in heart shaped tins as a surprise. YUM! And my favorite client called me this morning and said, Dee Dee Doll, put something red on because I'm taking you to lunch for Valentine's Day. Of course I had NO TIME for lunch but how do you refuse an offer like that?! So off to Lula's Cafe we went!
