Just wondering if any of the pricescopers have found their significant others posting on here and had the surprise ruined.
I would flip a lid if my BF was on here...
I''m sure there''s got to be someone.
I''d love to hear the stories!

LOL, actually..that could turn into the advantage of the person that''s supposed to be surprised. I''m so evil..I know...but they could anonymously suggest certain "ideas" along the way..if you catch my drift.....

i''ve been hoping to see my bf on here. i told him how great this site is and i know he has been ring shopping. i''d love to help him or at least have you wonderful experts help him, but so far i haven''t seen him.

JENNYANN2 --EMAIL HIM A REALLY FUNNY POST (LINK) --"HAVE YOU SEEN THIS SITE ITS AWESOME"

Jenny Ann:

I was SO worried that my boyfriend (now fiance) would be ripped off if he tried to buy my stones by himself. I''m no expert, but he knew NOTHING about diamonds.

So one day I just said, "Sweetie, I''m a little worried that someone is going to rip you off if you shop for the ring by yourself." His response was that he planned to take someone with him - and he winked. That told me he planned to take me, which he did.

That worked for us...but everyone couple is so different.

My b/f is well aware that I post here. I wouldn''t be surprised if he lurks, but he''s smart enough to completely hide his identity from me if he does post.

However, that doesn''t stop me from being suspicious of every male who posts pics of an Asscher here . . .

we did go to a "maul" store together so that he could get an idea of what the different colors, clarities and sizes actually looked like, but i told him not to buy from there and pointed him in the direction of GOG and whiteflash''s ACA, cause i figured he couldn''t go too wrong with those. my brother-in-law got my sister''s gorgeous rock from GOG a few years ago so i''m hoping he''ll listen and get me one just like it! hehe

I too suspected that BF would post, but he flat out told me know, since he knows I live on here. I guess he thinks my detective skills are too sharp to be eluded.

I do read the proposal stories and wonder though.

My whole problem is that my BF is anti-purchasing a diamond online. Yes those stones in the mall are pretty, but the deals are definetly on whiteflash and things such as that. I wish I could convince him. He is how he is though...
I like to read the male perspective on here though. it''s amusing!
It''s snowing where I am- how about yall?

Hey Amaleekel-

My FI was really against buying a diamond online. It wasn''t until I got him on priceline that I was able to turn his head. We looked in the mall together, and then compared diamonds online. If it weren''t for PS I wouldn''t be engaged yet, he''d still be shopping around (or not!) I actually directed him to a few posts in particular...and often shared my new found knowlege with him. I''m sure that it started to make him crazy...

Thanks PS!

Tybee

I definetly try to show him the site...with Christmas & his birthday we haven''t been able to sit down much though!
Tybee--was it you that got engaged by an outdoor fireplace??
That is one of my FAVORITE stories ever...

Okay, here''s the solution. If he really is dead set against buying online, then make him fly you to Houston and pick it out it person. Then you have the best of both worlds. Once you factor in the airfare, he''s overpaid just like at the maul, but you got the better diamond.

(This was typed with tongue firmly in cheek) Good luck.

My fiance told me to pick out my ring and stone because he wanted it to be something I liked since his tastes and my tastes are different. He gave a set budget for the stone and band and I picked out my own ring. And it is a very pretty ring if I do say so myself. I get compliments evry day on it. I''m glad he let me to it that way. I really like RBs and he likes Princess cuts.

I hope to God that my gf never stumbles upon PS, I would be so upset if I spoiled the surprise

I ruined the surprise... Well I was kind of expecting the proposal because we''ve been talking about marriage and our plan... So when I come down to So. Cal to visit him one weekend (we had a long distane relationship), he told me that we were going to Catalina. We went kayaking. Afterward we went to change out of our swimsuits, and I noticed him feeling his pant pocket and there was a square box. I was being a little brat, and said what is that in your pocket and I kept on asking and asking. I guess I made it less romantic that it could had been.
