I''ve been trying to hold out till the new version but I just can''t wait anymore. So here''s my golden beryl from Doug at Bespoke Gems. I think it''s beautiful but i''m having trouble capturing the color. It really is a beautiful stone. Here are some shots. I''d love to hear your thoughts on it.

This one shows the windmills well.

Beautiful stone, Alene! Any plans for setting?

It is gorgeous. I can''t wait to see what you do with it.

Pretty stone. Yellow beryls are a great color and that looks like a great cut.

WOW....VERY PRETTY!!!!

Thank you! As for the setting, it''s definitely going to be a ring but, beyond that, I have a pretty vague idea at this point. I''m going to need some help deciding on one.

I was recently at the Field Museum Grainger Hall of gems and took a bunch of new photos (much clearer this time) and they had an six sided golden yellow beryl (heliodor) in a similar color to yours. It was set in what appeared to be a very buttery alloy of 18K gold, so that might be an idea for you on how to set your gem. It looked nice in that gold color, it really brought out the warmth of the gem.

Here's a photo of the necklace from their website.

TL - thanks for the suggestion, that''s a beautiful necklace!

You're welcome. I wish you could see the necklace in person, it's much more beautiful. I'm waiting to upload these photos on PS2.0, but here is my photo of the same necklace. The gold is more true to life and buttery in my photo. Those are all heliodors in the necklace's tassle.

Alene - I don''t know how I missed this! Love, love, love this!!!

As you can tell from my collection, I heart yellow asschers, so I''m dying to see what you do with this one!
