I decided that it was very irresponsible of me as #1 on the LIW to disappear for months on end with no update and yet increasingly frequent posts on the Bride World Wide board so here''s the deal...
The custom designed engaged ring Nate and I worked on together for months was finally delivered in October. There were a few issues regarding quality that we were left fretting about. Ultimately I came up with one possible solution that could potentially fix our biggest concern with the ring and we may implement that change at some point in the future but for now we''re both content with the ring as is. So I''m waiting and waiting...
Supposedly every one that Nate has talked to has told him that after 6 years of waiting, he really needs to get his act together and plan a nice proposal and apparently that''s what he''s been working on. When I casually asked him on Sunday, he affirmed that he does indeed have a plan (FINALLY!) so it could be any day now. This Friday we leave for a quick weekend getaway to his parent''s house where they will be hosting their annual family Christmas party where no less than 70 of Nate''s family (and family friends)will cram into his parent''s farmhouse for a night filled with laughter, fun and a little of the holiday spirit (if you catch my drift). Part of me wonders if perhaps this weekend is THE weekend? Especially since he made a big deal about inviting my parents to attend when no one has ever thought to add them to guest list during the past 6 Christmas parties we''ve attended, but I''m trying not to read too much into it so I don''t get my hopes up more than I already have
With all of that being said, I''ve already put down a deposit on our venue, booked our photographers/videographer and our band and I ordered my wedding dress last week so the proposal is kind of a formality at this point. I know that''s not really the way either of us wanted it to be, but vendors/locations book up so quickly and life is so short and there is no way in heck I could have survived this wait without all of this wedding planning going on to distract me. Even without the actual proposal this wedding planning with Nate has been really wonderful and I''ve been enjoying the relief of knowing that the proposal is coming at some point before next October
So that''s where things stand right now...No ring on my left hand yet (although I have to confess that I''ve been horrible and awful and I''ve peeked and oh god, while I''m confessing I not only peeked but I tried it on and I took pictures and I am so going to get some bad kharma for that hehe), wedding planning in full swing, proposal coming soon?
