Thank you all for your advice and compliments. I went out today and checked out some other bands and, as per geckodani''s advice, tried on some wedding bands. I had already been looking at a few wedding bands online ( eternity pave bands and Beverly K''s floral). Much to my surprise the basket setting left a large gap between the engagement ring and the test-run wedding bands. I really want a wedding band that sits flush with it (without a cut out for the basket), so that was enough to justify the band''s return.

So (provided everything pans out with returning it to JA) I will be putting my lovely engagement stone in a new 2mm flat solitaire band. The only choice that remains is double four prongs or four single prongs? Thoughts on what will make the stone look bigger?

FB, I love the stone, it certainly is a performer. I am surprised that JA managed to set it into the wrong ring - that would annoy me.

Honestly, I think it is a shame to change to the flat setting. I hope your friends experience with her knife edge did not influence you too much. I have a knife edge and love it. (Tiffany also have had the knife edge as one of their show piece.)

That said I am sure that you have made the best choice for your diamond and you. I would love to see more pics when it comes back!

Aww!! So sorry you're having to go through with changing it. It did sound like you were starting to love the band, but I'm glad you tried on some bands with it. I, too, really, really wanted my WB to sit flush with my ering so I made sure I was able to do that when considering the ering band. That being said, can you see if there's a knife edge with prongs (rather than basket?)...if you're starting to like the knife edge as it sounded like you were starting to really love your band. However, I'm really glad that you figured all of this out right now, while it's still really early and you can do returns/exchanges/etc. without complications, rather than later on down the road!!

Also, can I vote on the prongs? I LOOOOVE

the look of the double claw prongs!!! Especially cause it's pictured with another cushion (or is it a radiant?? Anyway, it's still similar to your shape), but I especially love it because double prongs are NOT the standard. I mean...on PS we see it all the time, but I have to be honest and say I had NEVER (and still haven't) seen it in real life - in a B&M or on someone's hand. (Granted, I've seen more rings on PS than in real life HA HA!!)

Anyway, please let us know what you decide?? Also, if anyone who knows anything sees this, could you tell me, if I wanted to have claw prongs (NOT double claw prongs) put on my band (in my avatar), could I do that? or is what they did all they can do..maybe because it's a square cut instead of rounded?? I ask because I may have to have the prongs redone because I'm having issues. I could start another thread about it,but it's making me nauseous (with worry) thinking about it all...so I don't want to talk about it. LOL!!!
