My FF started talking about getting engaged and one of my friends decided to go ring shopping with me. My FF encouraged me to look around to see what I like. I will be a Lady in Waiting for at least another six months. Well, now a monster has been created. i am obessesed with searching for settings, goiong to jewellers and tryng on rings, reading posts, imagining custom designs, etc. The options are limitless and I''ll keep up my obsession until I find or create the perfect ring. My mom thinks its weird that I am doing all this reserach and shopping w/o my BF, but he is not one to shop for anything...groceries, clothes, dog food, anything. He would rather know what to get and where to get it.

Same boat...we went to the maul store to try on settings and I was trying to explain to him the cut, inclusions etc and he looked at me like I was speaking alien...and that is why I am picking out my diamond and giving him two very specific settings to choose from so all he has to do is give them the diamond and pick a setting to get made.

that is how we are too. Now sure if he will want me to pick out the stone or give him all the specs and wesbites to use when looking. I am stil trying to finalize a setting. THere are so many, its overwhelming!

OMG you''re not crazy at all! My FF and I have been looking at rings/ learning about diamonds for a while now and I would change my mind every 5 minutes on what I wanted. This summer I went through a major internal debate on whether to go with a Tiffany diamond or get a much bigger diamond for a lower price elsewhere. Finally decided on the Tiffany diamond, 1.70-1.75 carat, I color, VS2, classic round brillant setting. Some people think I am crazy b/c I have been scrutenizing over settings and noticing every flaw of every setting that was not Tiffany, etc. Like whatever though, its my ring and it only matters that I''m happy.
