Happy Thursday kids!

Yesterday was a bit of a clusterfvck. I went down the path of a project I wanted to get done... and it turned out to be a long and frustrating process. But it's (almost) finished now and by next week it will be DONE done, So there! I had to listen to two calls on the way back to the north estate, and there was a fifteen minute period where they overlapped so I was driving down the highway with both cell phones going. It was a really good time. NOT.

Today my missions are: pack up five orders and long a$$ continuing ed webinar. After that I am sure I will need wine!

I'm finally within five or six pounds of what I THOUGHT was going to be my goal weight... but I'm sad to report I don't think it's going to be enough. :cheeky: I'm revising down ANOTHER five pounds and then I'll see. Damn!

Ilya sent me the revised CAD yesterday with the thicker finger rail for more durability that he wanted to add... and it's virtually indistinguishable from the last one. I was like, oh yes, definitely, let's go with that!

OK, off to get this adventure started!

Hi Kids! Back from my Periodontal Torture Part 1 - I sound like Sylvester!

Dee Jay, oh no your project turned out to be a PITA for you! Yay to get it done by next week though.

Um that sounds sucky and dangerous trying to listen to 2 phone calls at the same time - good thing conference calls are one of your super powers. Glad to you made it back to the North Estate without incident!

Good luck not falling asleep during the webinar. I so agree you need some wine after - if not during. I during up 2 bottles of La Crema PInot Noir the other day. That seems to be my most recent favorite wine. I should have some today since I won't be wanting to eat anything chewy.

Woo hoo for closing in on your goal weight. Congratulations! That's okay too to have a new goal as well. I am closing in on my long term initial goal myself but I won't reach it until hopefully June. I am still slow and steadily losing a few pounds a week.

Ha Ha to tell Ilya to go with his revision on the finger rail and too funny you couldn't tell the difference. I might have to google what that is now because I am curious.

You are welcome for the back drop ideas - if you think of something you'd like to "see" I can probably do it for you in that new software I have. Where are you on the quilt debate?

Did you find any promising condos in West Palm? That would be a heck of a commute to the North Estate but Billy Ray could handle it.

I tried to make it through all of season 7 of 24 yesterday but still have 2 1/2 episodes to go. I go distracted in the morning by working on a resume and cover letter - yes you read that right. Earthsky.org has openings or one anyway for 10-20 hours a week updating or writing their astronomy articles. Why not put in for that, right? And naturally I wasted time on stupid Angry Birds. I'm at 316 or something like that now.

We are on the + side of 0 today but wind chill is still in the minus territory. Marty had to shovel the walk and drive way in shifts because it was so cold out and he had on boots, a snow suit, and other assorted cold weather gear.

My shots are wearing off and my mouth feels funny. Part 2 torture session is in 2 weeks. Joy.

Happy snowy Friday kids!

Oops — I accidentally posted! Anyway, here’s the rest…

How’s your mouth today? Did you have wine for dinner? In your honor I had an extra glass last night. :cheeky: The webinar yesterday was AWEFUL. We had to keep our cameras on the whole tine so I couldn’t get anything else done. And the kicker was at the end he told us it only counted for six of the twelve necessary hours and we had to do the rest online. Well those extra “six hours” took me about an hour. I should have done the entire thing online! When it was done I finally packed up my five orders and ran to the post office and UPS. As for your resume… I can’t believe it took you THIS long! It sounds perfect for you though and I hope you get it!

I’m in my usual Friday mode, sitting on front of an estate sale. We got several inches of snow last night and the roads this morning are a mess. I didn’t go over 30 mph at any point and it took me almost an hour to get here. Strangely, the subdivision plowing stopped at the driveway literally right before the one for the house…? So I’ve backed way up to make sure I’m not in the way when (if?) the plow comes back. There are four sets of pink glass I want here. And then I’m off to other sales in search of quilts!

I ordered some new polish last week. Depending on how my nails last this weekend I might or might not put on a new color. My nails were all nice and long and even… until yesterday. Somehow, sitting completely still on a webinar, I managed to break one. WTF?

I’ll send you the new CAD for Trifecta. You tell me if you can see the difference!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, my mouth is doing pretty good. The spot in the back of my mouth where I got a shot is sore when I touch my check there or brush that spot. Other than that I was pretty good even yesterday. I did not have wine but what a great idea to justify ice cream - it's soft. We just had a dish at Cold Stone and now I'm shivering because it made me so cold - but it was worth it. I had chocolate and cake batter.

That really sucks the cameras were on the entire 6 hours. Sweet you finished the other 6 hours online in an hour.

Did you get the pink glasses? Nice they plow the side streets there - we are lucky if plows do one path down our street. Down to three plus months of snow left. Yay! At least we made it to the 20's today. Woo hoo! Heatwave!

Did you get your new polish? Darn you broke a nail when they were all nice and long. WTH breaking it watching a seminar. I seem to break mine all the time. I painted my nails last week but haven't done them this week. I just got some of those dry spots healed again. I bought myself 2 boxes of waterproof bandages so I'll have to handy to cover up those spots.

I'll watch for your new CAD. I even googled what finger rail on a ring was and didn't find an answer for us.

I slept in yesterday because Marty got up at 4 to get ready to head to Denver. I ventured to the restroom since my eyes opened and since I saw light and talked to him I was wide awake until about 6 am. I had a hair appointment then did some shopping after that. I finished the scarf I was knitting and started on the March newsletter for the astronomy club. This morning I got up early and we went out to breakfast. I've been working more on the newsletter today and of course played some Angry Birds.

Happy Saturday night kids!

Curby, it sounds like you mouth is doing pretty good, all things considered. But I still think you should milk it for all it's worth... wine, ice cream, the works! I got SOME pink glasses, but not nearly as many as I'd hoped for. Several of them were horribly chipped on the rims. That's OK though because in my tour of estate sales yesterday I did get some other treasures. And today I zipped over to one I didn't hit yesterday and got the glasses I wanted half off. No luck on quilts though. I did see several along the way, but the condition just wasn't good enough. I'll keep looking though. My new polish did come and I have a color from the six box set on now. My nails have pretty much been destroyed over the past few days so I cut them all down and went for what I though would be a very neutral color. Not sure what I think about it yet... it looks kind of like a muddy mauve (heavy on the MUD, light on the MAUVE ). Maybe it will look better in the daylight tomorrow! Those waterproof bandages are great! After I had my ACL surgery I used them over my incisions to go in the pool and they kept everything totally dry underneath.

Today is Day 2 of a migraine. I went upstairs to "take a nap" yesterday after dinner... and stayed there for twelve hours! This morning my trip to the estate sale was MUCH later than usual (by about three hours!) but I still got what I wanted. And then I headed to a local auction... which took For.Ev.Er. But I got the treasures I wanted there too, so it was all good. Plus, being up and about gave me something to think about aside from the pain in my head. Hopefully this will wane by tomorrow.

I've got a set of dishes and serving pieces to pack up and ship tomorrow. That's always an adventure! And who knows what else I might sell between now and then. At the moment I don't have any listing plans. I may just spend tomorrow packing that big order and trying to make some space on the dining room table. We'll see.

OK, off to get the dogs out one more time and then I am going (back) to bed!

Just reporting in to say I'm still alive... although the icepick of pain in my head would lead one to believe otherwise. Ugh. I just had coffee and bacon (apparently my appetite is unaffected  ) and eventually I'm going to get up and pack that set of dishes. If my eyeball pops out from the pressure I'll let you know. Better yet, I'll have Liam take a picture for you! :cheeky:

Yesterday my auction girlfriend wasn't there and I texted to see if she was coming. She said she'd been up with a migraine since 3 am. So apparently this is "going around." My best guess is the weather. Maybe that condo in West Palm isn't such a bad idea!

Alright, enough kvetching... off to be productive in some manner!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, good idea to live on wine and ice cream - cause my mouth hurts! Ha Ha.

Darn that some of the pink glasses were chipped but glad you still were able to pick up some treasures. I'm not picturing muddy mauve too well but I'm guessing it has a tinge of brown in it? I think I'll paint my nails tonight. Good idea!

I am sorry to hear you have such a bad migraine. I hope you feel better tonight and it's gone tomorrow. I get them less and less these days probably because of lack of work stress! I hope your eyeballs didn't pop out - that would be funny looking and gross at the same time. I agree a pressure system could be aggravating a migraine! Good news it's warmer here now so maybe that will be moving your way.

I have my March newsletter done and need to proof it closely tomorrow before posting it. Then I'll submit my resume to Earthsky just in case they look for my newsletter online.

I went to Sam's Club this morning and got Marty a tomahawk rib eye for dinner today. That sucker is HUGE!!! I had a more civilized size sirloin. The grapes I picked up are almost the size of plums; they even have seeds in them. On the way home I picked up a prescription; got home and saw they gave me 1/3 of the amount prescribed so went back and was told - oh 5 to 10 minutes so I wandered the store shopping only to get a text sorry your insurance won't approve it until you've used the current amount. Phooey.

Looking forward to warmer but very windy weather the next few days. Yay!

Happy Monday kids!

Curby, thanks for sending the warmer weather my way -- going to be almost 50 here today! Can you send a copy of the newsletter along with your resume/application to Earthsky? I think they would be very impressed by that! What's up with the weird prescription thing... ? Last time I called Walgreens to get more migraine meds they asked me which prescription I wanted... but I only have ONE prescription, and that's it. The guy started rattling off a list. I was like, nope, sorry buddy, not mine... ??? Speaking of migraines, I'm on the upside of this one for real now. Whew!

Yesterday wasn't very productive. I didn't list a single thing and can't tell you where the hours went. Blame it on the headache!

The drive in today wasn't too bad. When I was getting ready I pulled a top out of my closet that I bought in Phoenix over Thanksgiving and have been saving for a warm-ish day. Well apparently I saved it too long, because it's a little tent-like from the weight I've lost between then and now. Not complaining... but damn... I really like this top!

Better get to it today, lots on my list!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I'm a giver - glad the weather is warming up for you. Are you getting our winds too? Good idea on sending a copy of my newsletter with my resume and cover letter. Thanks!

I'm not quite sure what's up with Walgreen's pharmacy; they always seem so busy they are overwhelmed but they sure seem to make mistakes. A lady in front of me had the same problem where she didn't get the quantity listed on her prescription. Maybe I should find a new pharmacy. That is kind of nuts they were confused about your one and only prescription. Does Excedrin Migraine help? Glad to hear you are on the upside of your migraine.

You deserve a lazy Sunday. You are busy all the time.

That's great your top is too big but darn you didn't wear it when it fit better. Funny you mention that. I bought new bras about 6 weeks ago and thought wow this feels tight so I kept wearing my loose, baggy bras which were getting really big. So I got one of the new ones out this morning and after 90 minutes of adjusting to something that fits what a difference! I also need new glasses; the ones I got in August were a bit big for my face but they were the only blue frames I like. Now that rest on my check and I'm getting a little irritated spot on my face from them now. Our VSP kicks in new every January 1st so I guess I'll make us eye appointments.

It's sunny and warmish here today but we have hurricane winds again - I was hear an occasional whistling out there over the TV. This week I will probably go renew my driver's license and need to make a deposit for the gym. The owner of the building for the gym is selling the building and Marty is considering buying it which of course worries his unemployed wife. It has spots for 4-5 businesses and 2 of them have been there longer than Marty. The owner says the rent pays for all his expenses on the building. Of course Marty has two jobs already - being a landlord would be a challenge on top of what he is already doing. The building was built in 1975 so at some point what maintenance would it need, at what point does it depreciate so much he can't sell it? There are tons of empty buildings around town that either never sell or get leased but this one is on a busy street. He also is looking in to expanding his space to an empty spot next door and that would double his rent but be nice to have more room and another bathroom. We will see what happens.

Off to get a roast going for lunch.

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, it's funny you mention bras! When I "grew out" of my last size I just kept them in the back of the drawer and bought new ones. Well a month or so ago I realized the ones I was wearing, even on the tightest hook, were too big, so I dug the old ones out. I was SO glad I still had them -- I HATE HATE HATE to go bra shopping! What an interesting dilemma about Marty potentially buying the building. It sounds like you might be adding "property manager" to your resume! :cheeky:

Yesterday I got quite a bit done! I even plowed through (almost all) of the stuff I need to take to my accountant on Thursday, even though it took me until 7:30 to do it. Then Liam and I went to dinner at a place we haven't been to before. The food was good but the atmosphere was... weird... It was a Mexican place and all the walls and ceiling were dark brown and there were glass boxes everywhere that looked like terrariums. I kept imagining lizards and snakes and tarantulas -- OH MY! Needless to say when we were done eating we didn't linger, LOL.

This morning I walked to work and it's so warm that I had my coat completely unbuttoned and my scarf off before I was even half way here. Hello spring!

Off to finish categorizing my expenses. Do I know how to live or what?!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I'm with you on bra shopping; I just picked smaller sizes exactly like the ones I had. Glad you remembered you had some in your drawer! Yay us!

I definitely don't want to be a property manager. We will see.

Good deal you got your stuff rounded up for your accountant. I can "see" what mail I got in my USPS account and saw I had a tax document from work in the mailbox yesterday. I ventured over early today to get it and luckily it was only that form about employer health care. I was glad it wasn't something that required submitting an amended tax form. Speaking of categorizing expenses I need to go pull the monthly income / expense report for the gym. It will be so much easier to manage one month at a time than the entire year.

That does sound like unusual decor in the restaurant last night. At least the food was okay. A lot of our newer restaurants have faux wooden floors, high unfinished ceilings and metal chairs. They are noisy as crud!

Glad you had a lovely walk to work today. It was warm here but really windy. I found a meme on Facebook today that said something like "look at the weather acting all cute and warm after trying to kill us last week".

I tried to sleep in but no luck there. Our cleaning lady showed up early and I was still loading the dishwasher. After she left I ran a few errands. Marty grilled a pork roast for lunch and got his new larger monitors for his office. I got 4 inches knit on a hat and got the March newsletter posted online. Tomorrow I might go renew my driver's license. As you can tell my thrill-o-meter isn't registering much.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, The bras I had in the smaller size were the exact same ones too! Seriously, when you find a bra that works you Stick. With. It. !!! LOL on the weather meme. It definitely applies here too! I looked ahead and it's supposed to be almost 60 one day next week. I'm sure we'll get a blizzard promptly after that. I bet being a property manger wouldn't be so bad since it's a small building so not too many tenants. Plus, if they are long term, they are (hopefully) good about paying their rent on time, and that is half the battle. I'm sure you're right about upcoming maintenance though. If Marty does really consider buying it a top-to-bottom inspection would definitely serve him well so he at least goes into it informed.

Yesterday I worked like a busy little bee again! I have to say, it sure makes the day go FAST! I've kind of taken over the new person on our team that we hired at the end of last year. She is also doing something for another guy, but I'm using her in terms of getting testing done and it's going to make my life A LOT easier come the annual review -- which starts up again already on April 1 -- how can that be?! One of the last things I did yesterday was reply to an email from one of our managing directors, and I had barely hit send when my boss was in my office (he was copied on the message). I thought, well here we go... And he totally surprised me by saying what a great job I did with that thing. I seriously figured he was coming in to b!tch about how I handled it, but was like that response was GREAT. Damn near fell off my chair! Compliments like that are short lived though, and lonnnnnng forgotten come bonus time.

Today I have one call at 2 pm, and I have to pack up three orders from earlier this week. Other than that it should be a pretty open day!

Hi Kids! It's Wednesday already??? Time flies when what day it is hardly matters. I know, bragging isn't pretty.

We are having nice weather through the day Friday then cold and snow is coming back. Three more months of winter left. Maybe.

The 2 businesses in that building have been there quite a while and probably aren't going anywhere. One is a vape shop and the other one is a nail salon. The ladies who own the vape shop always park their cars right in front of the gym; at least if Marty was their landlord he could tell them to move their cars. He parts on the opposite side of the street and up the block.

Nice to get a "GREAT JOB" from your boss. I am bad - anytime a boss wanted to talk to me at work I always assumed it was to gripe at me about something. Yes busy days do go fast, that is great the new person is helping you get your testing done. Sweet. Nice to have an easier day today.

I didn't sleep well - I am achy so will skip my errands today. There is always tomorrow.

I got 4 inches done on the hat I am making so will work on that some more. I have a friend checking over my resume and cover letter and I'll get that submitted today.

It is so nice out I walked down the block and back. Friday I'll try another direction. We have a green way on 2 sides of us but there are way too many steps to on one of those sections. If Marty goes with me someday I'll try walking down them and going that route. I can walk the entire block though without the steps; just kind of a steep section in one of those spots.

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, can you take a walk for me? :cheeky: I swear, some days I feel like I never leave the house... probably because I don't leave the house! Be careful on those steps. I don't wanna have to come there to sign your cast. Did you send your resume and cover letter in yesterday? Welcome back to the working world sucka!!!

Yesterday was a bust. I woke up to an "adjustment" from Pirate Ship (the site I've been using to ship my packages via UPS) that sent my blood pressure sky high before I even got out of bed. They claim all my 12 x 12 x 12 boxes are really 13 x 12 x 12 and then added on an additional fee that was as much as 50% more than the original cost for each one shipped in January and the beginning of February. I used standard 12 x 12 x 12 boxes and I even went and measured one all packed and assembled and NO dimension on that box is over 12 inches. Of course I disputed every adjustment, but I was MAD MAD MAD. And that was only through the beginning of February, so I'm sure come April they will whack me for the rest of Feb.

Then I packed up my three open orders -- all of which I shipped USPS instead of UPS because I was so damn MAD! The only real work thing I did yesterday (until much later; more on that in a second) involved a call with a vendor whose service has dropped off dramatically in the past month. Well it turns out one of their processing centers is in the Ukraine. Ohhhhhhhh. Alright; that explains why nothing has been done the last week, but what about in the three weeks before that? And we were under the impression everything was being done here in the US, so this Ukraine thing is new info to us. We may need to change vendors. What a PITA.

I just cruised along for the rest of the day. Around five I thought, alright, time to organize my tax stuff since I'm going to see my guy today. The instant I got paper strewn all over the kitchen the guy from the "good job" thing from the day before pinged me again with a follow on item, resulting in another hour of work that totally stressed me out and resulted in MORE paper all over the kitchen. It took me forever--and two glasses of wine!--to get stuff organized and cleaned up after that.

Anyway, yes, today is my Hour Of Power With Larry, my accountant. I love this guy to pieces, but he's three days older than God, and every year I say, "How ya feelin' Larry? Any retirements plans?" And he pats my hand and says, "Doll, doll, doll, don't worry, they'll carry me outa here in a body bag." Strangely comforting and DIScomforting all at the same time!!!

OK, off to get this show on the road. If you hear wailing from the east later you'll know I found out how much I owe Uncle Sam this year... ( <-- where's that weeping emoji when you need it?!)

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, lol that you feel like you never leave the house when you stay home. When I was working from home all the time I always went for a cruise once a week; I had to get out of the house. I will be careful on those steps; I don't want to wind up on YouTube! I did submit my resume and cover letter and I did not take my friends advice to list "badas* bit*h" under skills.

That really stinks about the packing boxes; good luck getting that straightened out! What a PITA.

Wow to finding one of your vendors is in the Ukraine; all of that mess is really awful.

Glad two glasses of wine helped gather your tax papers. Darn you had to do a follow up item on your great job. I am picturing your tax guy; reminds me of my parents attorney. He was way older than my parents but I am glad he was still on top of things. His help was worth every penny and then some plus he knew exactly what he was doing when he set up my parents family trust. Sadly he passed away a few years ago. Sending Larry mega dust for many, many more years. I didn't hear any loud wailing today so hopefully you didn't get bad news on taxes.

I started my day at the DMV renewing my driver's license. There was about a 30 minute wait and apparently I got there at a good time because it quickly was turning in to over an hour wait time. I guess I was not bright having the eye doctor fill out my vision screening test because they marked something on it that I have to have them submit a vision screening paper every year now. Oops. I took my camera with me figuring I'd get a series of mountain shots to combine and make a nice panoramic photo but there are so many giant windmills out there it ruined the view. I drove to the state line looking for a good spot and didn't really find anything but it was nice to take the Curbymobile out for a run. Then I stopped at the grocery store and came home. My sister stopped by for a visit today as well. I finished watching season 8 of 24 and might have to fork out $12.99 to watch season 9. It's not free on Prime.

Are you going to any estate sales tomorrow?

Laters,
Curby

Happy early Friday kids!

Curby, the only reason you didn't hear wailing is because Larry didn't do a calculation for me yesterday. My taxes get done so fast anyway, and we spent the whole Hour of Power just visiting that I left there without numbers. That's OK... I'll wail later! Are you going to pay $12.99 for season 9? I remember when I figured out that I could borrow electronic library books for free. It totally ruined me for ever paying for a Kindle book again! Especially once I totaled up what I had paid in the previous few years and it came to (no joke) THOUSANDS of dollars. I almost fell off my chair! So I guess I do get some "value" from my property taxes since some portion of that goes to the library. (That might be the ONLY value I feel like I'm getting there, but that's a longer conversation... !)

Yesterday was lonnnnnnng. I got up early and headed into the city for my Hour of Power. Then I ran by the cow bag lady's place to get The Magic Box of receipts (which is absolutely GIANT this year... I haven't had the heart to open it yet!). After that I did my best friend's taxes (yes, I pay someone else to do MY taxes, but I do HER taxes. Don't ask... :cheeky: ) and we went to lunch. Just as we ordered I looked up and who do I see coming in the door? LARRY! I've never seen him "out in the wild before"; in my mind Larry only exists in his office. It never occurred to me that Larry, The Tax God, would *eat* like a mere mortal. After that I took my friend back home and then drove back to The North Estate... where I promptly took a NAP. I got a late start packing up my orders (four of them at that point, including yet ANOTHER set of dishes), so that went on until about midnight. (Which begs the question of why I've been wide awake since 5 o'clock! ) I had a moment of madness yesterday when I was thinking, huh, these dishes DO sell, so maybe I shouldn't be so adamant against buying them. And then I spent half the fvcking night trying to fit full service for four into one box. THAT'S WHY!!!

You'll notice I'm not writing to you this morning from my car waiting for an estate sale to start, LOL. There are some glasses I want, but this seller is too expensive the first day so I'm going to hold out until tomorrow and hope they are still there and I can get them for half price.

Today I need to run up over the Wisconsin line to pick up the things from the Wednesday night auction, and also go by the local place because I never picked up the stuff from the Sunday night auction. Oy. I haven't listed a single thing for almost two weeks thanks to my migraine last weekend, so I am wayyyyyy behind.

Better get this show on the road.

Happy Snowy Saturday!

Dee Jay, ooh I got a question early this morning about my application. Doesn't mean I'll get it but I must be in the maybe pile. And luckily I could honestly answer "yes".

Too funny you say Larry outside of his tax and numbers world. It is kind of funny how our minds don't picture people in other settings like us mere mortals. Good luck with the cow bag lady's taxes. Nice to go to lunch with your best friend. I have 3 friends I need to contact for lunch but never seem to be motivated to do that.

I totally get you on Kindle Books. I shudder to think what we've spent over the years and I don't think I want to know. Marty reads all the time and once he started his gym he was buying really pricey books like anatomy and physical therapy. Now he's buying more of the psychology type books because as a guy who hates to even listen to my petty problems and insecurities he sure gets an ear full from his many lady clients. Makes me laugh.

LOL to buying then having to pack sets of dishes. My Christmas china is 20 dinner plates and they are all in a packing box; that sucker is heavy even though I can at pick it up now. You are building us muscles with your side job / hobby.

I hope the glasses you were interested in are still available today and you can get them at a decent price. Have a fun trip to the state line.

I started yesterday meeting Marty for breakfast after his morning stint at the gym. He obviously wasn't too motivated to go to work since he sat on the couch until almost 10 in the morning. I headed to the mall when they opened to get my few things from Jareds/Kays and Riddles cleaned and checked. Riddles does an amazing polishing job so took my two channel set wedding bands and diamond ring from Whiteflash and had them spiffed up as well. Then I looked at yarn in Joann's Fabrics and looked at kitchen stuff in Jax (it's a sports / hunting / outdoor store that sells a lot of cool stuff. I was going to look for clothes that "fit" me but since I plan on losing more I will stick with cheaper clothes or loose ones.

I made us tacos for lunch yesterday and used soft shells for mine since the periodontist told me not to eat crunchy food for 6 weeks. I found 4 inch flour shells; they were a bit too tiny but they worked. I finished my friends hat and stabbed myself on the palm of my hand making the pom pom for the top of the hat. I swear I can't do anything without inflicting a wound on myself. One of my employees used to tell people I was a "cutter."

I got up early today and think I'll made homemade beef noodle soup. I am going to start on my friends mittens and leave myself a note in my phone to never buy that yarn again. It sheds like a long haired cat.

We've got 4 inches of snow already and are expecting maybe 10 inches and lets not forget the wind that will make lovely drifts behind my car.

Well Phooey - I might have answered that question on my application with TMI. The question was if I was familiar with editing in Word Press which I said yes I use it for our club website and then added if the specific word press editing tool you use is something I'm not familiar with I am confident I can quickly figure it out. Marty said that is confusing since Word Press is the editing tool. Oh well. I get it but I wasn't looking at it that way. Word press has tons of options to do what you want to publish online and I was thinking that "section" maybe is something I hadn't used before.

Off to cut my noodles. Mmm homemade soup.
Curby

Ooh update - they want me to try and edit a post so I'm definitely in the maybe pile.

So I probably get my login Monday and they will have me edit on article for them. Since our astronomy club website uses Word Press I copied one of their articles and built that same article, pictures and captions on our website. It looks exactly like theirs other than the color / font differences because our site has a different theme. I am now very confident I can do this and will be excited if they hire me.

Marty moved his Tunderbolt monitor to the den and I can hook my laptop with it. That will come in handy for the newsletter and if I work on articles. He got new monitors for his office.

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, that is so exciting about the newsletter! You're going to do a bang up job! If you want a second set of eyes on it before you turn it in feel free to send it to me because I know how it can be in situations like this -- it will be the one time in your entire life you don't catch a typo! For "interim" clothes, do you have a Salvation Army or something like that near you? I know that's not everyone's cup of tea (some people don't like pre-owned clothes), but I just love swinging through there and coming out with "cheap" tops and jeans. And then when I "grow out of them" (in either direction!) I don't feel so bad! Speaking of things that fit, I wore a pair of jeans last night that were tight in the waist when I had them in Aspen several weeks ago, but fit now. Funny, because the scale has completely stalled on me and I don't think I've lost an ounce since then!

Yesterday was jam packed! I went to the estate sale early and got my number (1!), ran to Meijer for cocktail sauce, went back and bought the glasses (they are really gorgeous!), returned to the house and made two pounds of shrimp with Old Bay Seasoning (which took an inordinate amount of time sorting through You Tube videos -- all I wanted to know was how much Old Bay to use with how much water and what they whole thing should "look like" since I'd never done it before, but most of the videos were people making complicated things like cajun style full blown "shrimp boils" with a slew of ingredients), ran though the shower, blow dried my hair for the first time in two years (only because I didn't want to leave the house with it sopping wet), shimmied into a pair of control top pantyhose ( <-- :eek-2: ), a little black dress and heels, bolted downtown to a much delayed new years day black tie brunch, came back to The North Estate, changed into the aforementioned jeans, and went to dinner at friends'. Whew. I was TIRED when I finally got to bed!
Today I need to list a bunch of things and pack up the three (so far) outstanding orders. It's earlllllllly... but I should go downstairs and start washing glasses!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay I am pretty excited but sadly between elusive sleep and my mind racing most of the night I feel like crap this morning. My BP reading agrees I didn't sleep enough. Glad I am planning on being lazy today. Thanks for offering to proof things for me. I think the test article will be mostly copying and pasting but I will keep you in mind, I totally get the missing one typo; when I used to get the club newsletter copied to send in the mail (how quaint, eh?) I would proof read that sucker several times and when I picked it up from Kinkos I would kind of look it over in the car and yep there was usually one obvious typo in some heading.

Yay for your new jeans fitting better now. I am washing some of my old vests that will fit me now. They are Woolrich and Carhart so definitely warm vests. I was embarrassed to see dust on them because they have been hanging there so long. I think my "free" Levi jacket fits now too; I'll have to check. A local store had a 30% off all clothes weekend and we were buying several items and I kept telling them they didn't ring up my Levi jacket but they insisted they did so I guess I got it for 100% off. Marty was getting some Levis and a Levi flannel shirt so I guess they figured that was my jacket on the ticket. I tried though. Not a bad idea to check the salvation army for tops. I can get some things from Kohl's fairly cheap too. The PJ's I bought in November need replaced. The one set was too big to begin with but the Cuddlduds is kind of falling off my shoulder and I get cold easy so will see if they have a smaller size on sale, I keep thinking of drying my Lands End cotton sweaters rather than laying them flat to dry and maybe they'd shrink. My luck they would grow wider and be shorter.

What a whirlwind day you had yesterday and cool to getting dressed up for a classy brunch. Living the high life there! I am glad the glasses you picked up are really nice. Dinner with friends sounds fun. Did the shrimp turn out good?

It is still snowing. I got my login set up for my test editing article so will probably get the assignment today or tomorrow. I started on the laundry but will probably leave Marty's work / gym clothes for tomorrow and BTW they are basically the same thing. Shorts and t shirts.

I did some online shopping last night. I ordered some beef bouillon cubes as our store is usually out of them. Also ordered a silicon trivet and spoonula from the place I ordered the meat thermometer from; the small trivet I got from them last week is quite nice. And I needed new pot holders so ordered the ones Willaim-Sonoma have because I really like them. I didn't buy any jewelry or lenses though.

Right now I wish I believed in naps.

Happy Monday kids!

Curby, did you get the assignment yet? Our local Meijer is out of odd things every now and then. For a long time they were missing chili powder, even though every single other spic spot was full. I stopped at Aldi that time several weeks ago and noticed it as I was walking down the aisle, so I snagged a tin. Of course we haven't actually USED it, but at least we HAVE it now! LOL on the "free" Levi jacket! The shrimp were great, and SO easy. Liam loves shrimp, so I'm going to have to make these for him some time now that I know how!

I was super productive yesterday! For some reason I was wide awake around five so I had early coffee and then got to it. By seven I'd already washed two dozen glasses, and I was in full picture taking mode before eight. I got photos for about eleven or twelve listings, but only managed to get eight of them up because I ran out of steam... Then I packed up four orders and went to bed!

We got some snow overnight, and it was really coming down this morning when I left at 5:20. I thought at one point -- when I saw a car that had passed me a ways back, now turned sideways with it's rear bumper up against the concrete median barricade -- that I should turn around, but right then it cleared up a bit so I powered on (carefully!). It's still going full force here in the city, and I bet we end up with several inches here today if it keeps up.

At the risk of really regretting this, I have a project I want to do before the annual review looms its ugly head on April 1. I last did this large reconciliation in 2019 and it was a b!tch... but I felt SO much better once it was done!

Alright, off to make some "fancy coffee" in the main kitchen upstairs!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, rats you had to drive to the big city in snow. Glad it got better on the way.

Good idea to pick up chili powder when you see it. I have duplicates of most spices because Marty picks them up even when we have 2 or 3 in the cupboard anyway. Since he doesn't bake though I never have a back up for something I need when baking. I am glad your shrimp turned out good. I cooked Wendy's burgers for lunch today. Hard work there ha ha plus I got to drive the Curbymobile. I turned on the passenger heated seat since it was so cold out to keep my bag of food warm on the way home. It worked pretty well.

You were super productive yesterday. Nice to get pictures taken and some of them posted. I bet packing up orders to ship is time consuming.

Good luck with your big project!

Yes, I did update an article this morning. It took me 90 minutes. I found an error in their data too - ha ha. It's like being back at work - they had a 2 pm rather than 2 am on their annual meteor shower info. They use the text editor rather than the visual editor (which they didn't tell me) so the person that reviewed it found I had the wrong size for some sub headers and I didn't check open in new window on the links I created. They also did something to boost some score which in my directions said "we will go over that later". We will see what happens. I used to type straight HTML which is a text editor but I am rusty at it. No point in practicing unless they offer me a job. It was fun and I used the giant monitor in the den.

I slept all night for a change; that was nice. I woke up at 6:35 and got up then. It's in the 20's here today but sunny. Yay!

I did a batch of laundry and will head downstairs to lift here shortly.

I got through one level of Angry Birds then got hung up again. I am glad they give me a bonus every day on the first level so I can get through it. Marty is well over 200 levels ahead of me. I told him I might be at the level he is on in November.

Have a great day.

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, LOL -- I've also used the passenger side seat heater to keep take-out warm! Any word on your article yet? I'm just SURE they're going to want you! What are you going to do after you master angry birds?!

I worked like mad yesterday, and even told my boss about the big project I want to undertake and he was like, that's a GREAT idea. So now I'm committed, ha ha.

My brother texted me in the afternoon that he had some "accounting questions." Rut ro. Last time he had some "accounting questions" he owed back taxes! I tried to call him when I got home, but no answer. Maybe we'll talk today. I can hardly wait...

OK, off to train a new employee!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, we are so clever keeping our food warm on the heated seats. Ha! I did get a critique and a few tips on my article. Two of them I would not have had any idea about (subtitle size & fixing article for SEO score) but I do know to set up links to open in another window which I did not do. I haven't heard a word today. They edit in Text which I haven't done since I used Word Perfect 5.1 decades ago but I can figure it out. I imagine they gave an article to all their candidates to edit.

Well phooey the boss likes your big project idea and now you'll have to do it. Too bad he didn't say - oh that's not necessary anymore. One can dream, eh?

I hope your brother does not have tax problems. I'd rather have a root canal than that.

Speaking of teeth I am done with torture session 2. Right now I am hoping this numbness will wear off fast. I will probably have soup for lunch and something not very chewy for supper. I came home after my "ordeal" to wash my face and glasses as they kept getting sprayed from the dental work. Then I went and picked up fruit, bread and a piece of soft chocolate cake at the grocery store. See I'm thinking ahead of "soft" food. I told Marty I'd wait till he gets home tonight to split the chocolate cake; we will see if that actually happens.

We got the license plate renewal for the pickup - based on this year's fees I am not looking forward to getting the renewal notice for the CurbyMobile.

I have my "desk" all set up in the den now. Marty took his ancient Mac and monitors to the gym. I pulled out his speaker system he had in the den with the Mac and brought my little wireless Bose up from my gym. I'll use it more in here than the gym. Now we just need to find me a decent chair. The Sealy Big and Tall isn't quite my size.

We are expecting 6 - 10 inches of snow starting tonight through Thursday morning. Yay I can stay home.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, any word back on your new "job"?! Sounds like your new home office is almost ready to go! How many more torture sessions do you have at the dentist? Six to ten inches of snow -- yowch. Did you get it? My brother has failed to answer the phone when I've called two nights in a row, so either the problem is not that serious or he's in jail.

Yesterday was another day of *work*. Oy. It really puts a damper on my happiness. Not sure what today will bring, but I just keep looking forward to Park City on Friday!

I have a lady asking questions about ten of the biggest, heaviest glasses I've ever listed. I swear, you almost need to hands to lift these things -- empty! Kinda hoping she buys them... but kinda hoping she doesn't! The packing on these will be a b!tch.

For no good reason I just spend an inordinate amount of time looking at purple sapphires. I don't even LIKE purple!

Was hoping Ilya would let me know that Trifecta was done before I head out this weekend, but no dice. Of course now that I've said it he'll text me today or tomorrow since I'm not downtown, LOL.

Thinking about getting up now...

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I am copied on an email about the article I wrote but nothing else from my "job". I have a checkup in 6 weeks then a thorough cleaning again in 3 months and then they will see if they can lengthen my tooth and then if they can do that I can get a real crown put on my newly modified tooth. Such fun! My teeth were sore last night for sure. The chocolate cake was perfect for soft food. Ha Ha. So far I'd say we have about 4 inches of snow and it's still snowing. Marty did not roll out the trashcan again (I need BIGGER orange sticky notes) so I rolled it out after I took my shower. I hope your brother is not in jail - you'd have to bake him a chocolate cake with a file so he can escape.

Darn the pesky work. I take it you are going to Park City on Friday? Sounds fun.

Wow those sound like heavy glasses - which ones are they? It would be nice to sell them but yes packing them would not be fun. I often need two hands for glasses since my hands are tiny. If someone gives me a stemless red wine glass it is definitely a two hand glass for me.

Not to tempt you or anything but I LOVE my purple sapphire. That gemstone is a stunner! I wear it more than I thought because I generally reach for something blue. I hope you get Trifecta this week. Speaking of jewelry I didn't wear any yesterday so I best get some out for today.

Marty is going to loan me his Apple keyboard when he goes to the gym so I can try it with my new setup. It would be nice if I can just display my laptop on the monitor and use a keyboard with it rather than type on the laptop and have the application up on the monitor. It's funny when I tried working in the den for my job the crappy HP laptop I had was totally washed out from the light from the windows but the Apple stuff has anti glare screens so while I can see the window reflection it isn't bad at all. Yay.

I will really like having the desk when working on my articles. I start with something I find online then pull out books to add info and type up my article. That doesn't work well on my lap.

I'm making mini meatloaves and baked potatoes for lunch. Darn I only bought a piece of cake but that's a good thing.

I saw this meme on Facebook that you'll like. It said "Just because you are going 5 miles over the speed limit doesn't mean you can drive in the left lane. Some of us are trying to break the law for real".

Have a great day.
