Healthy Living Thread

Good news and bad news. I was told they don’t have 10 hours a week to offer me but she asked if I’d be interested in semi-regular editing at the same rate. I said sure. Why not? It’s a foot in the door.

Good news I got a welcome aboard email and have been asked to start immediately helping with their visible planets/night sky guide which is put out on a monthly basis. Guess I am semi employed.

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, that's awesome! Welcome back to the working world! So this is not for 10 hours a week, but for the other less-regular role, yes? I bet you anything you're at 10 (or more!) hours a week in no time! Love your purple sapphire! You are not good for my wallet, ha ha. LOL on the 5 miles over. Seriously folks -- Get Out Of The Way! I got the green glasses packed up last night (they were the Noritake Perspective, but they are gone from my page now that they're sold), and the box (18 x 12 x 12!) weighed 14 pounds for ten glasses and cost a small fortune to ship because they are going to California. Speaking of shipping, I got refunded by UPS for those six "adjustments," so I'm pretty happy about that! I have another order to pack up this morning, but it should be an easy one. I'd like to get some stuff listed today since I'll be gone all through the weekend. We'll see how that pans out!

Yesterday just evaporated. I didn't really work... and I didn't really do anything productive related to my Etsy empire... and I didn't do anything around the house... ??? Oh well, I guess that's just the way it goes some days!

Today I have a haircut (just getting the ends trimmed) at 3 pm, and I need to run to UPS and the post office, but other than that I'm wide open to waste yet another day.

And tomorrow -- Park City! My flight isn't until noon so I can leave here at a reasonable time. Pretty happy not to be on some crazy early flight, which often happens when I head to Aspen for instance. Now if only I can motivate to put stuff in my suitcase today rather than waiting until tomorrow I'll be in really good shape!

Alright, off to see how the day unravels!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, that is a heavy box of glasses. We had the Noritake Sweet Swirl glasses in blue when we got married. We gave most of them away (don't remember why) but kept the highball glasses and Marty has them in his bar downstairs. Nice you got a refund on your packages and good idea to get some things listed before leaving for Park City. I bet there is a lot of snow there. Good idea to pack today.

I have no idea how many hours I'll put in. The one article would probably take a lot of work since it's for the entire month but then it's done. The other deal looks like it would be hardly anything once I learn how to do it. I slept in today so just sent the two I'm supposed to get with a text that I was ready when they are available.

Lazy days are good for us. I did get my friends hat, mittens and scarf set finished yesterday. I want to start a throw but don't know if I want to venture to the store in this weather. It's sunny but high today is like 12. I might try tomorrow when we get up to the 20's. Heat wave!

I think I'll do a batch of laundry today and I have to lift sometime today. I am bored with TV so might buy season 9 of 24 to finish out that series. I started watching That 70's Show again in the afternoon. It is pretty funny.

Have a great day!
Curby

So I do have one task already - they have a monthly tonight sky page and I need to monitor it on a regular basis and delete out of date info and charts then make the next chart the featured image. Sounds easy enough. Plus I get to attempt my own new article. Ooh. Wish me luck!!!

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, didn't take them long to get you up and running! Have you picked a topic yet for your first article? What color hat, mittens and scarf did you knit for your friend? You knit super fast! How long would it take you to do a throw? If I started now... I *might* have it done before I retire. And that's if I worked on it non-stop!

Yesterday I got pictures taken for eight listings (which included the washing of a ton of glasses) and then wrapped all of that up and took it downstairs. Haven't done the listings yet, but I can work on them while I'm gone. I also made a real go at straightening some stuff out in the dining room, including taking a little bit of inventory on certain boxes. I can't tell you how many times I said, "Oh! I forgot I bought that!" during the process, LOL.

No packing for today's trip was done... but I did THINK about packing. Does that count?!

A set of glasses sold overnight that are going to be a real b!tch to box up. It's eight really tall martini glasses with super thin stems. Another 18 x 12 x 12 box for sure given all the bubble wrap and paper I'm going to use! So that's Mission 1 this morning. And then I'll take a shower and start making a big pile on the bed...

OH FVCK! I JUST sold a ten piece set! Geez - she couldn't by a VASE?! :cheeky: OK, up and at 'em! No time to spare this morning!!!

Happy Saturday kids!

Yesterday was "eventful"! I packed up the two big orders, took a quick shower, threw a slew of stuff into a suitcase and bolted for O'Hare. I had about an hour before my flight as I pulled into the parking lot I usually use... and it was full. The guy redirected me to a lot right at the airport, but it was a PITA to get to because you actually had to enter the airport area, which is a congested mess. I found a spot in the very last row and made my way inside, only to have to walk about 47 miles to Terminal 3 since I was flying American (instead of United, which is Terminal 1). Of course my plane was in the last gate. I got there as they were calling Boarding Group 9. I think Boarding Group 10 they just strap you to the wing, LOL. The door closed right behind me!

I got to Salt Lake about an hour before Sister #2. Once she arrived we booked a Lyft from the airport to the hotel in Park City. The driver accepted the ride and I could see the car parked far from the designated pick up spot. I received a message that I "missed my ride" (?) and the driver stated to pull away. I flagged him down and he stopped and told me he was tired and didn't want to drive the whole way to Park City. O... K...

So I booked another Lyft and the driver arrived. He pulled to the curb and opened the hatch of the SUV. We weren't sure what to do with our luggage because the ski bag is very long and the seat would have to be put down for it to fit. I asked the driver what to do with our luggage. The driver said he was not taking the ride and said we'd had shown him "disrespect by becoming irate" over our asking for assistance and drove away. ??? To top it off, I received some sort of "health safety" message from Lyft about mask wearing. We did not have our masks on while standing outside waiting for the car, but would have put them on before getting in. We ultimately booked a private limo to get to the hotel, but I am super annoyed at Lyft right now!

After we got settled we took a bus (which he had to RUN for!) to town for dinner and had copious quantities of whiskey and steak, so all's well that end's well! :cheeky:

Today #2 will hit the mountain early, and I'll go up and meet her for lunch. I also want to do a little "light shopping" in this cute town. Please be on call for any advice I may need, as there are several jewelry stores here!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, how is Park City? Ironically on Wheel of Fortune last night (it was on for noise and I had to back it up) a lady won a trip to Park City staying at a Westgate. Looked nice.

I do knit fast. I have knit since early grade school and most patters I don't even pay attention to what I'm doing - just a glance. Good question on the throw - I am starting one today so we'll soon find out how long it takes me. I thought I'd make it (probably) for the family gift exchange. If I love it then it might be "mine". I am guessing weeks to a month.

I have not picked anything to submit on an article to them but they had me do an article yesterday which was frustrating in several ways. I am a perfectionist (if you didn't know) and HATE not feeling like I know what I am doing. Their website editor is different than mine and they want me to use the text editor which rather freaked me out because I thought it was going to be straight HTML editing - I've done that but not for a long time. Turns out their text editor still does most things for you so no worries. The lady that walked me through adding the article, saving it, etc was busy with company and after she got me to a spot she said well I'll be back later and we'll do this, that, etc. I had already done the add pictures, captions, etc so she told me to do the rest of them and the subtitles, etc which I did. Way later in the day she emails me all the things I did wrong including the things she said we'd do later. I did point out to her which I probably shouldn't have that I was going to ask about them when we got together to do the other things she did. Oh well. I am confident I can do an article on my own now. I've done webpages for decades so just need to learn their idiosyncrasies. After the fact they sent me a style guide of how they expect things to look which would have been helpful YESTERDAY. But oh well. If I get fired who cares? I made $90 this week if the lady I submit invoices to ever contacts me. I saw in their style guide if I submit an article from me they pay me $50 per article. Either way I'll do it as long as I enjoy it; it's not like I'm in it because it is paying me well.

Nice to get lots of glasses washed and photographed. Good idea to take inventory. You must have a ton of stuff by now. Of course a set of glasses would sell before you leave instead of a vase.

Wow you did cut it close getting to your plane and what a PITA to park so far from everything. LOL to group 10 being strapped on the wing. That would be a windblown, chilly ride!

What awful service from the Lyft drivers. Nice to get delivered in a private limo. When we flew to Pebble Beach we had reversed a BMW 5 series because we were interested in one compared to the A6 we had. Marty tried to get his golf clubs in it and they were too big for the trunk and the back seat didn't set down. We ended up with a huge BMW SUV - after Marty dickered with them on prices for about 20 minutes. Turned out to be great for our stay - got great gas mileage and had a great view for driving and scenery.

Whiskey and steak sound like a great dinner. Ooh how did shopping go today? I haven't got a call or text right for me to encourage your jewelry purchases. I was just telling Marty I was deciding between upgrading something at the Shane Co for my birthday or the Canon L series macro lens I want. The lens would probably be cheaper too.

I worked on the article and read the style guide most of yesterday. I planned on going to buy yarn but never got there. Marty took Tylenol pm last night so was still sleeping when I got up so I played angry birds for a while and when he finally got up at 9:30 I took my shower and we went out for breakfast. I had him take me to Hobby Lobby and we picked a nice denim blue color for my throw / afghan. They are right by our eye doctor so I stopped in there and made us appointments for next month.

I have my desk set up and Marty is ordering me a keyboard. He loaned me his keyboard from the gym for today. I am displaying my laptop on the monitor and using the keyboard then with it. Works GREAT!!!! I hate the big / tall man chair we have in the den since I am none of the above so he is bringing home the office chair from the gym to see if I like it better and he can take this one to the gym.

Have fun!

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, sounds like you did just fine with the article, especially given the lack of info from the lady! Do you get $90 plus $50 for the article then? I fell an upgrade coming on! :cheeky: The set you knitted for your friend looks GREAT! Can't wait to see the throw when it's done. Which will be in about two hours given how fast you knit, LOL. I hear ya on chairs that don't work out well for us shorties. My one at the office fits me, but the complaint I have is that I can't get the arms low enough to go under the pencil drawer of my desk so I can't get as close as I'd like. Oh well; first world problems!

Not success on the shopping front yesterday. I found a purse that I like, but it's expensive and I need another purse like I need... well... another purse. #2 isn't skiing today so we'll do some shopping together. Maybe I'll find something else. She's actually doing a work thing right now so I might try putting up the eight listings I took pictures for the other day. The wifi here is crap though and I don't know if the pictures will upload.

Off to get a "real" cup of coffee. I tried the machine here in the room but it's rather lousy, so there's a trek to the nearby Starbucks in my future!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, dd you buy out the stores today? I love me a nice purse but I keep using my nylon LeSac Snoopy purses. I gave most of my leather ones away at Christmas one year when they were collecting slightly used purses to give to a local woman's shelter. Those nylon purses wear forever; I have quite a few Tumi ones too.

I feel so incompetent with this temp job I might quit. I hate not feeling like I know exactly what I am doing. I will see what this week brings. I'll stick it out for a while. That would be funny to quit and then start submitting my own articles. That would take care of the local paper, the club newsletter plus net a little cash.

Our couch is definitely a deeper seat than our love seat and it's even a bit too deep for me. If we get something that fits me Marty is hanging off the seat. The chair I'm using kind of kicked up my sciatica but I think I got used to it so I'll give that another week as well. My keyboard should be here Tuesday.

Did you get some listings up while your sister #2 was working? I'll have to go check and see what you've got listed. My sister that sells doll clothes was upset last night because she found a lady on Esty with the exact same name as she uses for selling doll clothes. Who knew 2 Jeanie's would be selling doll clothes?

I have about 6 inches on my throw done already. It may not be quite as wide as I intended but crammed on a 32" long circular needle it's hard to tell. It's definitely wider than that. I was going for about 40" wide and this might be more 33 - 35 inches. It will still work perfectly for a nap. Several guys in the family are over 6 feet so I will be sure to make it long. I can test it on Marty.

Marty had a busy day. He bought new memories for his old Mac he took to the gym plus it was cleaning day at the gym so he has been gone most of the day. He came home to eat and work on scheduling for the week. I was going to suggest opening a bottle of wine with our late lunch / early dinner but I only wanted one glass and hate to waste wine. That's alcohol abuse!

I did laundry and picked up the house. I even vacuumed and picked up Marty's office since he was at the gym. He is definitely not OCD like I am about neatness. I brought up assorted dirty socks, bowls, coffee mugs, water glasses and threw out a lot of trash. I don't think he could have got a tissue in his trash without something falling out. I am not sure he noticed he never said a word when he came up from scheduling.

The clouds out east look like rain. I know it's a tease but we are in the 40's today.

Happy Monday kids!

Curby, no dice on the shopping. I did get some locally roasted coffee for Liam, but that's not exactly what I had in mind! You might FEEL incompetent, but I bet you're actually doing GREAT! Give is a little more time and then see what you think. I know I've told you this before, but I really HATE the sofas I have in my condo. Some day (translation: maybe never  ) I will get new living room furniture. They are so deep even Liam doesn't like them, and he's almost a foot taller than I am. Oh well, I guess I'm entitled to a design mistake every now and then. Plus, they LOOK fabulous. I did get all eight listings up, and one of them sold already. Just goes back to Liam's mantra: People can't buy it if it's not listed for sale! That's a bummer about the other Jeanie selling doll clothes. What a weird coincidence! I had someone favorite my shop the other day whose user name is My-Real-First-Name Glass. I took a screen shot of it, ha ha. You should see if any of the little mini four packs of wine appeal to you since each one is about a (big) glass. I used to keep a couple around for exactly that reason; sometimes you want just a glass but you know the rest of the bottle would be wasted. LOL on Marty not noticing the clean up. I swear, our guys must think elves come through and do things in the dark of night!

Yesterday #2 and I decided to get some exercise so we wanted to walk to town, which is about a mile and a half. So we headed out. And then the blizzard started. Of course no bus came along that we could hop on so we just kept going. I took the hood off my coat the other week when I washed it and never put it back on. Mistake! Anyway, we shopped around a bit (of course the snow completely stopped and the sun even came out) and then walked back to the hotel... Again the blizzard started as soon as we were out of a reasonable spot to call for a car. Oh well, we made it.

Dinner last night was fabulous. I'm going to need to get serious about my eating when I get home! And some exercise probably wouldn't hurt either. :cheeky:

Etsy is doing this weird thing where they must be "featuring" my listings somewhere. It happened before on one particular set of purple glasses that I've had listed since pretty much the beginning, and all the sudden there were a SLEW of favorites all at once. Well I have a listings with thirteen spaghetti string drizzle glasses in different colors that I put up several weeks ago. The listings is split into three sets (as set of five and two sets of four). Just as we sat down to dinner a set of four sold. I didn't think anything of it; I mean, stuff does sell all the time. A few minutes later though the listing was favorited by someone else. And then a third person bought the set of five. Too much to be just a random coincidence I think! So now I've got six orders so far to pack up when I get home. I'm going to be a busy bee!

Alright, off to do a little work before the realtor gets here to take #2 and me to see some houses. Who knows, maybe she'll find something she wants to buy today!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I am sure Liam will like the coffee. Sometimes it is how the sofas look rather than how comfortable they feel! I was firmly planted in one of our Flexsteel recliners downstairs the other night and had no desire to move! We have a couch and love seat in the living room upstairs then recliners in the den and man cave.

I agree our guys think things just appear by magic or little elves come by and take care of things for them. They need to realize they NEVER had it so good!!!

Liam has a point you can't sell something if it's not listed. Small Etsy world that lady has a sight with your first name. I should see how many are out there with my name.

What luck to get caught in a blizzard both walking to town and back. You are very close to Wyoming - not surprised that would happen! What did you eat at your fabulous dinner? I am continuing to slowly see the numbers shrink on my scale. And I emphasize SLOWLY!!!

That's great to get new favorites! I see your stuff sometimes if I just go to the main Etsy sight. I finally saved your page as a favorite so I don't have to search for it. Yes, I am that lazy! That's great you sold quite a few things today.

So sister #2 is thinking of buying a place there? Nice!!!!

I don't feel retired today. I woke up at 6:30. While eating breakfast texts started coming in from Earthsky. I needed to go buy food so zipped off to the store (not that I move fast but my car does). They had a 1.5 pound ribeye so picked that up for Marty and got myself a smaller strip steak. I have half of it left for supper. I think I'll cut it up and make a few noodles and make a package of gravy. Easy beef stroganoff! I spent several hours working on another meteor shower article. Then I lifted and ran to the bank.

Tomorrow I have a lesson at 8:30 on how to get my article with a high SEO score (in case you don't know what that is - I didn't) it is to make it come up high in search engines online. Then after I do that on my article from today, I have 2 articles to work on tomorrow. They asked me if they were giving me too much to do. I said I'm fine but tomorrow I am going to tell them I am fine with 4-5 hours a day and if I'm busy that day I will let them know. My keyboard should show up tomorrow and that will make things go faster because I can work on a big screen and have multiple things pulled up at a time.

I wore my pad-ish halo sapphire ring today. That sure is a pretty sucker! Makes me want more halos! Generally on me I lean more towards side diamonds or accent diamonds.

Hi Kids! Happy Tuesday. See even I know what day of the week it is.

I got around early today because I had a quick training class on my new part time job. It was easier than I thought. Then I updated 2 articles and decided that was enough for the day. I waited for my keyboard to get delivered (which is working great by the way) and got hungry so ended up in a LONG line at Culvers to buy out lunch. Marty always wants 2 Fresco salads with grilled chicken so our order also takes a while. I got in line about 10 minutes after noon so needless to say I was in line for quite a while.

This afternoon I watched some TV and played a few levels of Angry Birds But I am stuck again. Phooey. I am about to go for a quick walk and get the mail while I am out. It's in the 50's here so pretty nice outside.

I could work on my two articles for tomorrow but I think I'll wait on that. I am meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow so how exciting is that to venture out and socialize? Ha Ha. My thrill-0-meter isn't pegging much right now.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, do you have your ruby ring yet? I am wearing my yellow sapphire RHR today. I met a friend from my old job for lunch so I had to get dressed up. I didn't wear my baggy clothes that practically need pinned to keep wearing. Wasn't that decent of me? I ordered a peach margarita but it wasn't very good so I just had some of it. I heard about all the things I don't miss about work. I guess me team has had 2 on air errors since I left. Joy! I showed her my desk at home and how funny it is that it resembles my desk at work. I'll have to see if I can find a comparison picture for you.

I have been BUSY today. I did my quick task of updating the website for tonight's sky then updated two articles. Then I got a project request that took me about 30 minutes and could lead to lots of future updates. Yay. I'm being busy and useful. I got my W9 filled out and sent in. I'm up to $238 earned so far; I can top off my gas tank now. Ha Ha.

Marty was zonked out on the couch when I came home from lunch. He'd ordered a burrito that was getting delivered right as I got home.

I just started a batch of laundry that I meant to do this morning. I bought so few clothes that fit me I need to do laundry every couple of days. Third world problems, eh?

I really like this Apple keyboard. It's nicer than the one I had at work. I types fast.

PS coming home on the interstate luckily I wasn't doing Mach 1 because there were 2 - count 'em - 2 highway patrolmen just waiting to catching a car zooming down the highway. I was about 7 mph over the speed limit when I spotted the first one and I slowed down. Then about a mile later there was another one but luckily I was behind 2 cars that were having a go slow race. Pshew!

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, no Trifecta yet... but hopefully soon! It sounds like you're already busy with your part time job. You'll be running the place any day now! All three of the Culvers in this area can have lonnnnng lines depending on when you go. I sometimes pull in, look at the line, go in and get the food at the counter, and the same cars are STILL in line when I come out! Wow -- for once the Go Slow Race was a good thing! I have to confess I was a bit speedy coming back from the airport last night!

#2 is mulling over the things we saw. I liked them all, but didn't LOVE any of them. Then again, it's not my $$$! For some reason I got upgraded to first class on the way home yesterday. Clearly American had me confused with someone else! But that's OK; I ate my extremely mediocre salad, drank my extremely mediocre wine, and enjoyed my completely unnecessary legroom!

Today I had seven orders to pack, one of which was really large, and all that took quite a while. I ran to Target after going to UPS and Liam already had dinner in the oven when I got back.

Tomorrow I'll drive in to the city. Oh joy... I'm out of audio books once the one I'm listing too gets done so I better download some more or else I'll be left with only the voices in my head as I'm driving down the highway -- and that's a scary prospect for sure!!!

Dee Jay, Hurry up Trifecta!! The lady in charge told me today they are very disorganized and want to work on that this year. Hopefully I can help with that as I tend to be pretty organized and I will always figure out a way to do things more efficiently. We are getting a second Culver's here but it won't open for a few months yet. The problem with ours is if you get in line that winds in to Office Depot's parking lot they get angry. If you are in line at Culver's you are blocking parked cars that are inside. I was totally thinking of walking in but hated to get blocked in by the long line. It's a popular place.

Yay for selling more items but darn to needing to pack so many orders.

I hope sister #2 found something she loved to buy. It's tough. Good deal you got upgraded to first class. Did you get a warm cookie?

LOL to listening to the voices in your head. You have to admit sometimes they have really good ideas. Ha Ha.

Curby

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, I didn't get a warm cookie... but there was an anemic looking mini lemon bundt cake (that I didn't eat). What a PITA about the culvers line. The one that we went to the first summer of covid to get custard almost every evening has a bad parking lot too if the there is a line. The parking spots are all blocked BY the line, so even if you can get into a spot, you can't ever get OUT!

The drive into the city was fine today, but I woke up an hour before my alarm went off and I should have just gotten up THEN and made the trip rather than laying there thinking about it!

Today work is going to be a clusterfvck... I can feel it coming already...

On a happy note though I'm wearing my labradorite eternity bands I bought a few gem shows ago in honor of St. Pat's!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, a warm cookie sounds great right now. I like lemon cake but hard to say if it would have been good. The lemon creme cake they had at Olive Garden was always one of my favorites but they don't offer it anymore. I'm hungry right now too. I just ate a banana.

Yes those parking lots that the drive through lane blocks cars that are parked is a total pain. In the "olden" days when I met a friend for lunch every week; if we met at Culvers I parked at Office Depot and walked over. Way easier.

I hope your day goes better than expected. Yay for a nice drive in to town today. We are meeting 2 of my nephews for lunch tomorrow at a Bison ranch south of town. I'm looking forward to the Curbymobile running wild and free. Marty will probably take his own vehicle because he might have to work. He is so busy with his day job he is often triple booked for calls.

Nice to be wearing your labrodite ring today. I don't have anything green on today. Bad, Marcy! Once in my bar hopping days a few of us sprayed our hair green with green hairspray. Since I was the only blonde in the group I was the only one who had green hair for a week or so. It washed out of my hair slowly. I am wearing my EC studs and RHR today. I'm in baggy pants and wearing a t shirt and sweater. We had about an inch of snow.

This morning I updated the 2020 meteor shower guide and then updated 2 articles. I guess I am done until they decide what to do about peak time for the showers. Times don't match from multiple sources. As an observer the "peak" times never match reality anyway.

I haven't done my bookkeeping for a few days for the gym - that took me 5 minutes.

Now to goof off for the day.
Curby

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, I love Starbuck's lemon loaf, and there must not be much real lemon in it at all because my citrus allergy does not get kicked off by it. Those hair colors have been tempting to me in the past, but I've always resisted due to the fear of lingering hue, LOL. Are you actually working the ten hours a week they told you they didn't have for you? It sure seems like it! Bookkeeping... I need to do the cow bag lady's and the jewelry lady's accounting for the year so they can do their taxes. Might happen today... then again, might not!

Yesterday wasn't as bad as I'd feared. And I even got out of the office relatively early so I was back at the north estate around eight.

This morning I packed up two orders and I've got a third one that is going to a town that Liam is going to drive right through tomorrow on his way to an auction so he's going to take it for me and drop it at the lady's house. Excellent! I want to get some listings up today but the weather is, at Lorelei always put it, PANTS and the light is just awful. We'll see.

Tomorrow I'm headed to the local auction. So far there is only one thing in the pictures I'm even remotely interested in. Of course it's in with a large lot of other stuff and I REALLY don't want all of it. I'll swing by in the morning and check out the condition of the pieces and see if there's anything else, but maybe I'll be off the hook!

OK, time to see what I can do about pictures...

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I will have to try some lemon loaf from Starbucks. Marty stops to get coffee whenever we go somewhere. Good deal it doesn't trigger you citrus allergies. What reaction do you get from citrus? I get sores in my mouth but I can get away with eating some citrus fruit.

I worked almost 10 hours but only part of last week and only 5 minutes today. They didn't give me anything to do and I didn't ask. I will ask on Monday if I don't hear from them. The main lady has her grandsons this week and she took them fishing today. Another lady emailed me for my info to contact me through messenger so maybe I will be working with her. She didn't say. The first article I did for them came out in the email notice today and I printed the text part out and it shows me all the things I would need to do on something new. I'm learning! DId you get the stuff done for the cow bad lady and jewelry lady? I did my gym bookkeeping.

Good deal yesterday didn't live up to your expectations - that is always a plus. Nice to get to the North Estate in a timely manner. I think I'll call my little gym downstairs the North Gym. One of the guys in the morning this week put little weights between big weights so it looked like they were lifting way more weight than expected. I guess the freaked Marty out pretty good. I was impressed.

Nice that Liam can drop off an order for you. One less shipping charge. I had to order a $9 replacement cord for my little Bose bluetooth speaker and had to pay $7 to ship it. It hardly needs charging but we can't find the cord anywhere. It was only 12 inches long and Marty had it plugged in down in the man cave but one of us moved it before Christmas. I looked everywhere I would stick something. He has a giant box full of assorted cords and we tried one that should work but didn't. I know I'll find it now that I bought another one.

I totally remember Lorelei and PANTS. When Marty was traveling to the UK for work he heard that and was surprised I knew what it meant. I hope you were able to get some decent pictures today. Our weather is sunny but windy so making it chilly.

I started my day with the 5 minutes task on the ES website. Then I've been knitting. I have 14" done on my throw and that was 1 skein of yarn (7 oz). I figure 5 skeins total will be 70" and should fit even the guys taller than 6 feet. Watch my niece that is even shorter than me will end up with it but it's way better to have a blanket too big than too small. From work I got a really nice fleece blanket from ESPN that I'll kill if someone tried to take it away from me. It is so nice and warm. Of course I like it so much I never use it. How dumb is that?

We met 2 of my nephews for lunch today. It was fun. Marty had to get on a call coming back from lunch but he didn't miss work that way.

I think I'll rent a movie and knit tonight. I kind of had a stomach ache this afternoon but decided I was probably hungry. I might make a grilled cheese for supper; filling, not rough on the stomach and easy to make.

Have a great weekend.

Happy Saturday kids!

Curby, I bet you love the SB lemon cake! If you're going to eat it in the car ask for a fork because it can be a little messy. My citrus reaction ranges from itchy lips and tongue to hives All Over My Body (literally from my scalp to the soles of my feet!) depending on how much I have. One time #2 and I were in a very dark restaurant and we ordered the charcuterie. I *thought* one of the little side items was a cherry tomato so I popped it in my mouth. It was a kumquat. By the time I bit into it I was doomed. Within fifteen minutes I was in the bathroom scratching like a monkey! I went home and took FOUR TIMES the recommended dose of benedryl and took a cold shower to combat the itching. It was HORRIBLE. LOL on the guy pranking Marty with the weights! And I like the sound of The North Gym! We've got an entire electronics store worth of cords here too. I'm sure I've got one that would work for you! I also have stuff that's "too good to use." I can't tell you how many times I've sent things to the Salvation Army that I've absolutely loved... and virtually never worn...

Yesterday I only got two listings up. I had to be on two calls and also made a super quick run to Costco. After dinner I packed up an order that sold as we were eating and the one that Liam is taking today. Boy am I glad he's hauling that one up for me! I only used about half the packing I would if it was being shipped, and not even double boxed, and I still used an 18x12x12. I hope the lady lifts with her legs LOL because that box is HEAVY!

Alright, post office opens in 34 minutes and I need to run by there on my way to check out the auction. Better get moving!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, sounds like your citrus reaction is as bad as my fish and turkey reactions. Do you have other food allergies? I just get sores in my mouth from citrus. Pork gives me hives and makes me itch. Chicken gives me hives and stomach aches. Some things will swell my lips and when my throat starts to close off that is bad! I have some food allergy meds to take but they shoot up my blood pressure. Such fun for us! Marty always tells people it is easier to list off what I can eat than what I can't.

I am in the same boat on clothes - I totally need to get some stuff ready for the goodwill. I should see if the women's shelter needs clothes. I know I have tops and sweaters I've never worn. I just ordered 5 things from Kohl's - all for $92. I had a 30% off coupon so I got a smaller pair of pants (need to see first how they fit), 2 cardigans, a cable pullover sweater and a pair of sweatpants. I ca return anything I don't want - but will i? I didn't check Land's End yet on the cotton cardigans I wear all the time. End of season might mean they are discounted.

Maybe that lady will see Liam coming and he can put it in the house for her. You should have seen me get Marty's weight stuff in the house years ago. Way before I was lifting and it always showed up in snow and when he was out of town. I became rather inventive at getting that stuff in the house.

Did you find new treasures at the auction today?

I got up about 6:30. Marty was out in the wild taking picures so I made myself a pancake with strawberries and whipped cream. Mmm. I made it to the grocery store by 8 am. I picked up 2 t-bones and 3 chicken breasts to grill for lunch today and tomorrow. May as well grill since snow is moving in again Sunday night.

I finished the first skein of yarn on my throw - it came out to about 14" so I bet I can get it long enough with 5 skeins total. I like it enough I might want to keep it. Ha Ha.

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, fortunately I don't have (or haven't YET had!) an anaphylactic reaction to citrus. That would be TERRIBLE as damn near everything has some citrus component, including things that you wouldn't think. Salad dressing, all sorts of sauces, and pretty much everything at a restaurant! Several years ago I was at a dinner and started having a reaction. I tried to eliminate things to see what caused it. Finally I turned to the people who brought the vegetable dish and said, "So... how did you make those carrots?" They were so proud of themselves, telling me all about the recipe... which included a can of orange juice concentrate on the top to make the sweet glaze Ugh.

Liam left the big box on a chair on the lady's front porch. I messaged when I'd put it there, but never heard back. Hopefully the glasses are really at the right house.

My auction trip yesterday was successful and FAST! There was only one table where I wanted anything, and I got it all for a really good price. Beforehand I sidled up to my two most irksome "competitors" and said, I only want X off that table and you can have allllll the rest. It's taken ages, but I think I've finally got them where I want them! When it came to the bidding they auctioneer started with those particular things. Competitor #1 put in the first bid, I put in the second, and when the auctioneer turned back to #1 he said, "I'll let the lady have it." Competitor #2 didn't bid at all. So maybe they've wised up and decided to play nice! It certainly behooves them too because that way I'm not bidding THEM up when the auctioneer gives "choice" off the table because I only want certain things and will pay up to get them, so I need to go higher to make sure they don't get to choose the thing I want. Anyway, I was back at the house before ten o'clock! The rest of the day I worked through a box of stuff that's been sitting in the dining room since last summer. Pics are done, but nothing's posted yet. I also packed up three orders (including the thing I specifically bought at the auction yesterday for a lady). Something sold as soon as I went to bed -- of course! -- but I'll deal with that tonight. Liam has the counter taken over this morning with the things he bought yesterday so we'll have to arm wrestle for space here in a bit. I also need him to help me rejigger the top two shelves of the high cabinet because there are some things up there way in the back that can go to the Salvation Army... and then I can shove more of my own glasses on the shelves! Of course it's a temporary solution, but for the past month or so I've had at least a dozen glasses sitting around the sink because I've run out of room to put them.

Still no progress on the bookkeeping for the cow bag lady or the jewelry lady... I really HAVE to find some time to do that SOON!

OK, off to the races!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, trust me I get that unpleasant surprise of unseen and unknown food you just ingested. The worst one I had was in Denver at an astronomy outing. Nice way to impress people! Luckily I had some of my food allergy meds with me. I am real allergic to aspartame and Marty's grandma figured I just didn't like it and obviously she thought I should use it to lose weight. She had us over for dinner one time and pretty much every thing she fixed had it in the food. I got violently ill - we were both ticked off at her for that. She "didn't know" it would make me so sick. I think that is why I am such a picky eater - I want basic, simple ingredients and want to know what's in it. I kind of hate being invited over to dinner somewhere or trust stuff out of a pot luck or buffet. Give me a hamburger!

I sure hope that was the right address to drop off the glasses. Otherwise - surprise and headache for you.

Nice the auction was successful and fast and good deal to get your competitors in shape. Not only are you the auctioneer's pet but you also have auction super powers. Did you arm wrestle Liam for counter space? I would do better against Marty now that I lift but he'd skill kick my butt. I doubt my entire arm could beat his pinkie. Then again we are both stubborn so who knows what evil tricks we'd play to win?

It looked like a promising sunrise today so I was up by 6:30. No dice though; just some color. Too many clouds. We went out for breakfast and I worked on my article for April to put in the local newspaper. I got laundry done with the exception of Marty's "work clothes" that are in the dryer. No rush getting them out since that consists of flannel pants, t shirts and knit shorts. What the heck - doing chores on the weekend like I'm not retired? We are having grilled chicken for lunch today and I'm already hungry so I ate some strawberries and a small banana for a snack. Last night we were watching movies so I made us a batch of popcorn. I carefully chewed to the right since that side was scraped on a few weeks ago. I did get a lot of knitting done yesterday watching TV. So far the throw only fits the teddy bears.

I ran the Curbymobile through the car wash this morning. Snow is coming tonight tho so I plan to stay home for a day or two and hopefully keep my car clean. Ouch - Marty's picked needed gas - $140. I'll have to go back to work!

Happy Monday kids!

Curby, holy cow about Marty's grandma and the aspartame! WTF are some people thinking?! $140 to fill the truck -- YOWCH. I though the $78 I paid to fill the Deemobile was bad! What's on the "work" docket for this week? :cheeky: I see your furry friends are "assisting" in the knitting process!

Last night as I was getting ready to go to bed I got a message from a lady that she wanted to return eight really big blue martini glasses because (a) they are too big (I said in the listing these are LARGE glasses and to refer to a picture I took with a standard size can for scale), and (b) they aren't as shiny as they look in my pictures. She also said my listing implied they were crystal (no idea where on earth she got that idea...). Because of all these "discrepancies" (her word, not mine) she wants a full refund. I was like, Send 'Em Back! Four other people had them in their cart so I have no doubt they will sell again, but I really resent the fact she implied I had somehow misrepresented the glasses. That just torqued me off!!! Anyway, it is what it is. I'm having a bang-up month and decided to focus on the positive!

This morning I just Could Not get out of bed. I didn't get on the road until much later than usual but I still made it OK. There is definitely a second cup of morning coffee in my future though!

Tonight Liam is coming down and we're going to dinner with a customer he did a PPP loan for that owns a restaurant. I'm wearing Uni and Pinkie in honor of the outing!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, so now you have a "Karen" customer. I hope she doesn't leave you a nasty review. The rest of your customers are quite happy with their purchases. So there - Karen!!!

I like knitting on my throw because it keeps me warm. It's so nice not to be using yarn that sheds everywhere too.

Stupid gas prices.

This morning I updated the planets visible tonight section again. Yesterday one of the 3 images for that was an AM picture and someone else took it down. Once I saw it was gone it did dawn on me that had expired basically when the sun came up so I should have removed it yesterday. I told Marty I wish they would just ask me to go do it rather than take care of it themselves. Then again I am used to being the trainer rather than the trainee and I have definitely done that to people I am training as well. The chief editor says she has a project for me but she isn't at her computer right now. I added links to report fireballs to all the meteor shower articles but that's it so far. She said she will get back to me this afternoon. Since she is CT we'll probably be eating when she wants to start on it. Oh well. With the hurricane force winds going on outside I plan to go NO WHERE today.

I didn't want to get up this morning either. It's catching. Glad you still made it on time though. Dinner sounds nice tonight. Have fun and enjoy wearing Uni and Pinkie. Speaking of which - any word on Trifecta?

I may be opting for a new laptop rather than a lens or jewelry for my birthday. My MacBook Pro is over 4 years old and really staring to heat up. If I use it on my lap it heats up pretty bad and kills the battery. My new setup in the den with the monitor must be tapping the memory or processor because the fan really kicks up then too and the laptop gets quite hot. I went down and talked to my IT guy - he assures me it won't catch on fire when unattended and yes the larger and sharper display may be a bit much for the processor. Yesterday when I tried to get started on the computer it was completely shut off and took about 5 minutes before it would start up again so I'm worried it's dying. Apply products are so stinking pricey but I don't want any other brand. The new model like mine starts at $1999. I best be putting in lots of hours, eh?

I need to lift today as well. It will warm me up.

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, the funny thing is I had a "feeling" about this order. That has happened a few times, and unfortunately I've been right more than once... Oh well, it's all good! Gas prices. OMG. OVER SEVEN DOLLARS A GALLON in the city. Granted, I absolutely never fill up downtown, but it's still over five up by Liam. Did I already say OMG? OMG!!! Did you get your new project? I would love an Apple laptop but too many of the things I do won't play nicely. For instance, the real estate forms are geared SOLELY toward PC and the "translation" doesn't translate well At All. Maybe someday!

Yesterday I was not very productive at the office... until about half an hour before Liam was supposed to get here, LOL. Then I cranked! Dinner with his client was Fab.U.Lous. And I definitely threw the low carb thing to the curb!

I slept great, but Liam headed out really early because there was rain in the forecast that that can be a total killer in terms of traffic. It's pretty warm still so I walked, but I should have put my umbrella up. Even though it was only misting, by the time I got here my hair was WET!

Trifect update -- drumroll please! -- Ilay said tomorrow! I would normally go back to The North Estate tonight, but I'll just stay downtown and have dinner with a friend from my old complex. I hope it REALLY it's done tomorrow because I leave for Aspen on Thursday so I don't have another day this week to stay!

OK, off to find some more coffee! We got a new machine and apparently since I only did my undergrad at Northwestern and not Harvard I'm not smart enough to use the damn thing. Maybe one of the smart associates will take pity on me and assist!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, some people are just impossible to please. Yes to OMG on gas prices. Marty sent me this meme that you'll like. What else can we do but laugh about it? I did get projects today plus got invited to the weekly meeting in Google meet so I had to go set up a Google account. I updated the summer solstice and fall equinox articles today. Plus learned how to update some of their Google Docs.

That is too bad some of your documents won't work on Macs. Marty bought me my first Mac laptop after I had a Sony laptop with Vista on it and had all sorts of trouble with it (like fire-walling myself off our network). He was IT manager at the time at work and was sick of dealing with Windows issues so he bought me a Mac. I HATED it at first and now I wouldn't want anything else. Some browsers other than Safari do display things poorly.

Glad dinner was fabulous last night. LOL to needing a degree from Harvard to operate the new coffee machine. Think what someone like me who went to University of Wyoming would do? Of course since I don't drink coffee I have NO clue how to make someone a cup of coffee or espresso. If Marty isn't here I tell people if you know how to work his coffee machine, help yourself!

I am anxiously waiting for pictures of Trifecta! Yay for jetting off to Aspen again. Have fun.

I didn't get done with work until about 1 pm. Marty was HUNGRY by then so I went and bought us some Arby's roast beef sandwiches. I just started a batch of laundry.

I forgot the gas meme

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, how is Trifecta? It sure turned out GORGEOUS!!!

I worked about 5 hours today. Wow! I think I finished up her loose ends though so we will see how much work I'll get in the future. I HATED using Google Sheets and Docs at my previous job and guess what I had to work in today? Aak! I'm more worried about breaking that than their website.

Marty was hungry before I was done and so I ordered Door Dash delivery for lunch again. I thawed out a hunk of beef to grill but we have hurricane force wind again - er still - so no dice there. I told Marty the only reason we don't get to name our wind storms like a hurricane is we'd go through the alphabet 5 times over during the year.

It's almost 3 pm and I am just now settling down to goof off. WTH? I thought I was retired!

We had a snow squall move through last night that was brutal; our drive way was icy in spots this morning but I navigated the trash can to the street without doing a face or butt plant. Sweet!
