So...I''ve been lurking around here for a few weeks now, reading and relating, and I finally decided that it was time for me to join you lovely LIWs. What prompted my sudden urge to post was my lunch hour spent at Tiffany''s trying on celebration rings (I''m thinking of treating myself to 1 or 2 or 3

of them for Christmas...trying to get a better deal on something similar somewhere else, of course.) I tried three eternity bands, all pretty thin, one all-diamond band, and two blue sapphire (my favorite colored gem, hence my avatar pic which is my Kirk Kara dream engagement ring, but more about that in some other post!) and diamond bands in two slightly different styles. I would post pics on here but I''m not sure how to do that yet! Everything was so sparkly in there...it was driving me crazy!

So anyway, being the anxious LIW that I am, I just had to drift on over to the engagement ring section

. Although my favorite Tiffany (from the pics on the website) has always been the Lucida (and they were gorgeous, but I happened to only like the bigger ones!), I fell in love with a .95 I VVS2 simple Tiffany round solitaire. Although, I couldn''t completely try it on (they only had size 6 and I am a 7.5) it looked so beautiful, that I haven''t been able to stop thinking about it!!!!!

Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully be able to share some of my experiences with others like me!

Cheers,
HDG

I forgot to ask the salesman and I''m sure one of you out there has to know...Since they only carry size 6 in the store, what happens if/when I seriously am considering a ring and want to try it on. Do you know if they can order something in a different size or if they have different samples? I would like to know how the ring looks ON my finger and not just sitting on my knuckle or on my pinky. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I''m not sure what their policy is on that. I know they do one free sizing on rings. When I went and tried on engagment rings there, every single ring i tried on was a 6. I think that''s their standard size to carry in store. Maybe that''s something you should call and ask a SA.

Hey we bought our lucida there in July. They won''t size the ring until you''ve purchased it. I''m a size 8 so I just tried on our ring on my baby finger and it looks perfect on my ring finger once it had been resized.

Thanks for the info bee! I just think it''s a shame not to be able to see the ring exactly the way it will look on my finger!!!
By the way, I absolutely, positively, LOVE

your Lucida. Congratulations! It is also (one of) my dream ring(s) and I absolutely loved it in person but only the bigger stones, like 1 1/4 and above, and they all were a little over budget for us (unless FF gets a better paying job very soon!

). The under 1 carat Lucidas seemed to get lost on my finger but the round .95 looked perfect! Anyway, this was my first time even looking at rings so I''m sure I will see many many different rings before I decide what I want.

BTW, you should take and post new pics of your beauty!!!

Thanks! I''ll definitely have to take some more pics-I''ve been so busy with college since I got back that I just havent had the time-maybe this weekend if we get the weather here.

I understand about not being able to see the ring on your finger before you buy it but I can understand from there point of view too in that they can''t resize rings everytime someone wants to try one on. The round brilliants are gorgeous too. Maybe try signedpieces.com and see do they have any on there
