Hey everyone! This post might be kind of long so please forgive me ahead of time! I have been lurking here for about 4 months. I have enjoyed reading all of your posts and congratulate all of those out there who have rings on there fingers and to those who dont.. i am right along with you. I have been a lady in waiting for about 2 1/2 years. My boyfriend and i will have been dating for 4 years now. We have went ring shopping a lot together and have also thought that he would ask me by now. when i found this website it was a blessing! I have been through so many fights with him about the ring thing and i am completely exhausted. i wish that i would have joined this website months ago but i have not had the energy or time to join and post my story. It would have made some of the moments a little easier if i would have had ou guys to talk to and by the sounds of what my ff is saying i will be off of the boeard as soon as i joined it. (but you never know ; ) guys... my boyfrind and i recently have went on a trip to pittsburgh, pa. I thought that that day was it but surely found out it wasnt. I am sure by me saying this it will be a lot more info then some of you ladies have gotten but he set a month timeline of when he will ask. He is keeping his promise thus far because he said by the end of October. When we were in pittsburgh we had a nice dinner at the restaurant Eleven and went up the incline. while up there we obviously started a fight about why he hadnt asked yet. I cried, he hollered, the typical liw convo with their ff.
So the short story of it is that he is sick of having to take into consideration about what other people think and is ready to finally do what he wants to do which is ask me asap. he said that he wants to be engaged and happy before the end of october. So he said that he is going to ask within these next two weeks. I know that i might not belong here seeings which he is going to get a ring and ask me before november but i really need you guys in these last couple of weeks! He also is a guy so he could change what he thinks.
I felt bad because i have been depressed for the past couple of months bout it. he told me he could tell and he doesnt get any sleep at all because he thinks about being engaged to me every second of everyday. and how depressed i am because we arent yet. Sunday was the first day that i acted happy and actually ment it.. we joked and laughed and hugged and kissed and we were both actually truthfully happy! He acted out that night that we fought unlik anyhting i ahve ever seen from him. he seem like he wants it so bad. He said that he would ahve asked me right there but he did not have a ring. he is old fashioned.
I think that i am feeling better because i know that he feels the same way that i do. he might actually want it more than i do. lol. he just acted so different and told me his feelings! I know that he will be devastated if he cant ask by the end of october. he has had issues lately with his mom in thinking that he should wait. not that she thinks he should wait she is just a concerned mother too much sometimes. he will still do what he wants to do which is ask but he also is very close with his mom and dad, yah know? Well, thanks for listening to my rant. I have a feeling that there will be more posts only hopefully about how excited I am on the journey to the end of October! Wish me good luck and add me to the LIW list please! Even if my stay is not that long i am glad that i posted my story! Please stick with me as we all see if it happens when he said it would! Yeah you guys finally know me now as diamondgirl22 not a lurker!
