@voce Beautiful choice of mount for your spinel. I personally prefer yellow gold with pink stones. I think it brings out the warmth of the stone! :mrgreen2:

Could you post a pic of you wearing a yellow gold ring? For some reason I can't picture it very well.

These are all 14k yellow golds on my hand, various lighting. I put all my yellow gold rings away for this week, since I rotate rings. I've always thought I could sport any color gold, although a Pakistani American friend insisted white metals look better on me.

Oohh, I love this setting! I'm considering it for my lavender spinel. Have you seen a photo of it in yellow gold?

Nope, I haven't seen it in yellow gold. I asked if I could get another setting in yellow gold, and the answer to that was no, but I was told this one, which I was also interested in, is available in yellow gold. I'll admit that when I first inquired I was thinking white gold for this setting, but I don't think yellow gold would look bad, and I have a terrible time deciding which gold to use. If you guys think yellow gold looks good on me, I'd be more inclined to go yellow gold, because all my rings in platinum (high end gems like my unheated cornflower blue sapphires, rubies, and red spinel) and my rings in silver (lower end gems) are done in a white metal, and I might crave some variety.

Yellow gold then! I think it would complement both the pink and the orange :) Is there an option for rose gold though? Because if so, that would actually be my pick lol.

Hehe, I could ask tomorrow. I do have twice the number of rose gold rings compared to yellow gold.

If thry have rose gold, that'd definitely be my pick; it would complement both the pink and orange really well while providing contrast.

This is a tough choice because the stone looks great with either metal color. I think yellow gold would add more contrast and white gold would be a softer, more fluid look. It’s going to be very pretty either way :))

Gorgeous stones and what a fun project! My vote is for yellow or rose gold to bring out the richness of color!

@voce If rose gold is available that would look gorgeous too! ;)2
I have seen some lovely pieces with rose gold and pink diamonds that really complement each other!

So I am going to choose white gold as I prefer it with the pink color I am seeing above. But since you said you might want more variety and you have more rings in platinum or silver I also think it would look lovely in yellow gold. My preference for white gold and pink is my preference but I do think you cannot go wrong either way.

White gold

Definitely yellow IMO.

Ok, decision closed. I'm getting the oval setting done in rose gold (didn't think they had it available at first). Rose gold would mean I can combine the ring with more other pieces (like my tsavorite set in the same gold by Ivy and Rose from last year).
