hi all,

we have a much more modest budget than most other posters on here, but need help deciding on a cushion cut for an engagement ring! i love antique cushions and old mines, want to keep it around $4-6k. all listed below are GIA certified. i love spready stones but am worried about things getting too windowy, and i generally like more elongated shapes with L:W ratio around >1.1.

we were sent this option from an online service. it's 1.12ct J VVS1 7.21x5.93mm. link to video. i like it a lot, but to my extremely amateur eye it's not a true antique.

today, i saw a few jewels by grace diamonds i love.

thanks for your advice!

The first one is not bad for it being what it is.

I don't like any of the first three videos of Grace's stones, but I wonder if that is because of the video and how they took it. All the centers look dead. I think it's just how the video was taken.

The last Grace stone looks ok.

I honestly would not make a decision based on these available videos. There has got to be a better way to see these stones and how they perform. Direct sunlight at that angle is not doing them any favors, but I don't think they are all that bad IRL.

How about this one?

There is also a J 1.04 that just came in at her site as well.

I agree that the videos don't do them justice. I'd ask for another video to get a better assessment.
