Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this site, but I’ve been browsing and trying to keep up with all the new and beautiful jewelry you all have! Thanks for keeping me entertained.

Sooo it’s finally time for me to buy a ring of my own! Yay! It is not, however, an engagement ring, just a right hand ring I hope to buy for myself. The challenge is however that I don’t have a large budget, but I’ve found a few prospects for a diamond around a quarter ct to a third of a ct, which I will hopefully find more information about soon. Keeping this size in mind, I am having a terribly hard time finding a nice setting! I really want something I can wear everyday, and is really low set. I once saw a ring I really loved which was a VERY low set diamond with 3 teeny marquise on each side that looked like petals, however I cannot find this ring anywhere now. If anyone can find pictures of this/similar to this I would love if you could post them here! Also, I would greatly appreciate any other neat ideas to house a smaller size diamond. I suppose my main goal is to make sure it doesn’t look very engagement-ringy.

Thanks in advance to everyone for any help you can provide!

Edited to add: BTW, when I say marquise on each side of the diamond, it is not up right next to it, it is more in the band, possibly bezel set. Thanks again!

*bump*

So no one knows where to look for any flower/floral styled rings?

There definitely was a thread about flower rings. You may want to run a search for it.

And there is always the opportunity to ask for a custom setting - maybe something like these earrings below ?

Hi,
I just came across this ring while surfing yesterday. Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but it's from Whiteflash and I'm sure they could design something perfect for you. Good luck.

Hey everyone! WOW those are some gorgeous rings you all found! You guys really are good at this! I especially love the whiteflash one, the second one by firerock, and the last tiffany one. Those are really amazing! I think I might have something custom-made incorporating a little bit from each haha.

Valeria – its funny you should post those earrings, as I was just ogling them a few hours ago! They really are gorgeous – in fact, most of their stuff is really to die for!

Thanks everyone for posting these pictures, they are really getting my creative juices flowing! As always, feel free to post more

Thanks

Thanks firerock, that first blue topaz and peridot one is pretty! I saw a bracelet like that once and was totally in love!

I am still deciphering on what to do - first I have to pick out a diamond! I am really bad at making decisions so this could take a while lol. Thanks again for the great pictures!

No Clownfish... i am THE worst at making a decision on a "rock". I've decided on 2 and ended up returned both. I'm hoping 3rd is the charm. When i started... i thought finding a setting would be harder, but i already got my setting made. NOW... where is that center stone of mine....??!!

LOL, well atleast you'll know you will truly love it!! I am just bad on actually buying anything for myself, unless it is absolutely necessary - like school books or toiletries. I don't like to spend money, except for on gifts for other people. I was totally planning on designing a ring, but now my anniversary is coming up and must purchase a gift for the boyfriend first, and soon following that is 2 family birthdays, and then christmas! And on top of that, being a college student certainly doesn't help the finances! I don't have that much money to go 'round (well i have a decent amount saved up but i cant stand to spend much of it), so this purchase may be put off for a while

Unless of course I actually get up the nerve to just buy something! We will see I suppose - I can never make up my mind! One day I think, I should really buy myself something nice, and the next day I think, No, I should really save my money. Well that was quite a long ramble, my apologies lol.

Oh the insanity!

Bree,

I really love the floral setting you posted. Can you tell me where I can find it?

Thanks!!

Oh Clownfish,

No need to apologize... this is what THIS Forum is all about. It's my daily support group until i complete my e-ring. It is refreshing to know that a young person like yourself value money and you are aware of the importance of saving. You sound like a very giving person to others, but you must need to have a balance and not to forget about yourself in the process of "giving". I'm a true believer in saving, but i would also splurge when it's time to do that. That's what makes saving worth while.

I know you will find what you are looking for... and i hope to see you post some pics on here. You should know by now... "we love pictures"!!!

Yeah... saving for nice jewelry is important
