Hi all - can anyone tell me what fluorescence is on a diamond? Should it have it or not? Apologies but i don't know much about this. ...

Just for future reference, questions about diamonds and settings go in Rocky Talky. This one is to show finished pieces of jewelry.

Many of us here love fluorescence because it is a beautiful natural characteristic of some diamonds. Some jewelers are prejudiced against it. The great thing for the buyer is that it often makes the stone cost a little less and can make some stones look a little whiter in some lighting. It is rarely a negative unless the stone has poor clarity and the fluorescence is very strong. But the article marymm posted is what you need!

Thanks guys, and sorry
