I''m getting married in LESS THAN 2 months. And... I have no idea what to wear to the reception! We are having a private-immediate family only ceremony, then a few hours later having a casual reception. We have rented a "barn" and are serving barbecue, beans, potato salad, banana pudding, etc.... We are decorating with white table cloths, red gingham liners, and white lights. I''m not sure of all the decorating touches just yet, but you get the idea. We have a bluegrass/country band as well. I also have red gingham invitations that invite guests to a casual reception, so hopefully no one will come dressed up.

For the ceremony, I have a cocktail type tea length white dress. Nothing fancy.

But what do I wear to the reception?? Any ideas?? (links, pictures are MUCH appreciate.) I thought about just leaving on the dress, but I''m afraid I would be out of place or just not comfy. I''d like to look "nice" but still in some way keep in the theme of the night and also be comfortable.

Thanks so much for ANY and all ideas!!!!

What about a really cute white sundress? Something that is clearly more casual but is still festive and sets you a bit apart from the others? You are the bride, so you could wear a white eyelet or embroidered linen or something, to the knee, with an espadrille or wedge or some type of sandal. Does that make sense? You could then have a cute fitted jean jacket to wear over it.

I agree wholeheartedly with diamondfan on this one! A white eyelet or otherwise detailed sundress with a great pair of shoes like she suggested would be fab. Also, if you think you won''t be comfortable even in a casual dress, you could wear cute jeans and find one of those pretty, flowy babydoll tops in white, or you could even do a shorter babydoll dress in white over jeans, a la American Idol Jordin Sparks (I thought she looked so cute in jeans and those cute little dresses this season!) with pretty shoes. Add the denim jacket (cropped, I would think) or a cute shrug or sweater and you''d still be "bridal" and BBQ-comfortable! I think it''s a great idea to change into something casual-reception-friendly, let us know what you decide to wear!

Thanks so much ladies!! That''s the idea I was going for in my head, I just couldn''t figure out exactly how to pull it off. I''m having trouble find a lightweight cropped jean jacket though. It''s HOT in july and I need something sort of light weight. I don''t know if I''ll want to take it off because i do not like my arms

So... any ideas for cute jean jackets?

Thanks again everyone!

Here''s a cute one from the Gap, it''s a little more detailed and current than your standard model denim jacket:
