Wondering if anyone can help with some information about this ring just from photos. It was my great grandmothers, not sure if real jade. The green is not a vibrant green that I would expect. Thanks! 297E47EC-11C6-4AE1-9E5D-A94CE9153272.jpeg5416A403-CA8A-4793-B0D5-A1E690439D42.jpeg1BD85D41-B0C9-4FC7-8190-44D9F6823305.jpeg27D79BCE-E6FC-4935-9D85-1A156FF9F073.jpeg

we have some very knowkegable jade lovers here, hopefully one of them will be along shortly
do you know what carot the gold is ?
i would think a higher carot would meam more possibility of real jade

it does come in lots of different shades
do you know the age of the ring ?

i do rather like it
do you wear it ?

Chalcedony or jade are the first two possibilities that jump out at me.

To me it looks like 14K on the band. I don’t know the age of it, somewhere between 1905 and 1975. I do often wear it, it’s a bit small so usually as a pinky ring :)

I’d say its Jade. The age and the style of the ring indicate this probability.
Jade comes in every colour and many qualities.
There’s two types of gems referred to as Jade. One is Jadeite which is harder on Mohos scale and Nephrite Jade which is softer.
Bright green translucent Jade (if natural and untreated) is extremely expensive whereas more opaque Jade / less vivid colouration is more pocket friendly.

She did have some striking and different styles. I just posted this on in the antique/ vintage thread because I don’t know anything about it but would probably fit in the coloured gemstone forum as well
