Hi

I have been really blessed this past year by my Jewelry Godfather - I have received a lot. I would really like a diamond pendant, but my significant other aka the Jewelry Godfather, has gone into shock with regards to the price of one and to calm him down I scaled down my wish list to something smaller budget wise...

For Xmas I want a whitegold pendant for everyday wear. It should be unusual, not too elaborate and have some diamonds in. I have narrowed it down to the following four. Which one would you choose and why?

Thanks
Maya

Oh you lucky girl. 1st choice would be the WF X pendant and the second choice would be the James Allen circle pendant. I love the chain on it and the bezel diamond on the top is icing on the cake. The other two, are not my taste.

I prefer one of the top two...I like the XO pendant cuz it could also mean ''hugs n kisses'' which I think is sweet. I also really like the design. However, I also like the flower cluster pendant - I got something identical from another vendor a few years ago for my sister when she got her masters degree. She wears it all the time and it looks really good on the neck. Hers is yg though. Sorry I can''t narrow it down to one!

I like the James Allen white gold kitty cat pendant best...of course I am a little partial because I love kitty cats.

X !

Or the flower... oh well, how about all of them? The X one looks like it would never flip by design and it is very much prone to matching earrings. The flower pendant is too, and this is one reason for indecision

Will you be looking for a matched set in any foreseeable future?

My choice is slightly outside the list... do you think WF (or?) could make a flower pendant with a yellow center? Since these diamonds are small, it can't be hard, I'd guess, as long as there is a fitting yellow diamond around. Not sure what is going on with the outer prongs as well - it cold be just the picture that makes them look like clamps. Anyway, there have been so many nice things coming from WF, this one should be negotiable. If the idea does not sound too outlandish. I've seen tiny flower pendants like this done with colored melee - and befittingly tiny bead-like prongs. So... it should work on these too.

Hi

Thanks for your responses. It is really difficult to decide, especially since I can''t put it on and see how it will look. When Mara introduced the Circle of Life pendant a few months ago I was sure that I wanted one as well, but since then I have tried one on and I didn''t really like it at all. The Whiteflash XO pendant will be a classic, but the other three will be different than anything anybody else I know has.

I keep reminding myself that the photos of the pendats are maybe 40x enlarged. Do you think either one of the four I posted will be an attention grabber? (I love people admiring my jewelry
9.gif
) Or will they be so small it won''t be noticed? Will it even look as if the pendants that have the pave set diamonds have diamonds from afar?

How important is the 4C''s and cut quality in something so small?

Do you like this one from Spencer & Spencer? It is a new vendor that is advertising on PS.

Thanks
Maya

Hi again

Staci, I am a cat lover too...this one may be vetoed by my husband since he already thinks I have too much kitty kitch in the house. I am limited to one new cat thing a year.

I don''t think I will go for matching earrings. I already have whitegold hoops that have diamonds half way around and I wear them all the time. On top of my "One day when I win the Lottery" wishlist are a solitaire pendant and diamond studs though.

I guess the two from Whiteflash and even the dangle from James Allen and the one from Spencer & Spencer are more timeless...

Any other suggestions is very welcome

As far as I can tell, color matters allot less. Clarity and cut are still there. The little stones get lost if not brilliant...

I am not exactly talking ''H&A'', but there is some obvious range of cut quality from glass chips to amazing miniature RBCs.

Just my 0.2, you know that

That one is awesome. I was browsing their website earlier today. It''s definitely a show stopper and fun at the same time!!

Hi Ana

Do you suggest something like this from Spencer & Spencer. It is a lot more pricey, but have only 4 diamonds with a total carat weight of 0.75 which will make each diamond bigger.

Of the 5 you posted, my absolute favorite is the first one from Spencer and Spencer (the 5 little diamond "droplets"). It's beautiful and classic.

Maya,
The second one from Spencer and Spencer has something funky going on in the center, what is that exactly?? Is it a blob of gold or what??
33.gif

I love the SnS one meant to replicate the Tiffany Bubbles design. I also like the last one you posted, though what is going on in the middle?! Did you cover up a diamond or something?
2.gif

i also don''t love that middle blob in that last one. also funny how you can see the arrows in the other diamonds in that pendant but that last bottom one is all funky with a big table and a mish-mash pattern???

for me daily use would be a simple solitaire pendant but it depends on your style. i wear a .38c Regent in a pendant almost daily and adore it, small sparkle from the neck, subtle. i love that james allen circle one but to me that''s not daily wear..it''s more fancy? the first whiteflash one is fun too.

Yes, the "flower" pendant from Spencer & Spencer is a bit strange and it does seem like a "blob" of gold. Here is the yellow gold one. I am not sure if the photography is playing tricks or not. The images are from their web site...no tampering from my side

That yg version appears to be the same exact picture, they just colored the gold yellow. Even the funky bottom diamond Mara pointed out looks the same.

Liking the idea, hating that middle thing....it''d be better if it was open there. If you''re going SnS, I like the long Bubbles version better. I think of all your options, that''s going to give you the biggest ''look''.

Maybe they will come on and tell us. I was also wondering what that back spec is in the middle of the gold??

yeah... and no, I wasn't thinking of that, but of THIS. Now... I have no idea how large is that one, and the color in the centre is a naughty idea, but yellow would not have the same... financiar effect. And definitely deliver a true diamond flower

I like the Whiteflash flower cluster the best.

LOL about too many cat things.

I really like the first one you listed from Spencer & Spencer - very pretty and classic looking but kind of unique too! I think the diamonds would stand out pretty well on that one, much better than most pave ones IMO.

OOOh...valeria101...the flower pendant with the pink in the middle is gorgeous!
30.gif

I like the X one from WF and the bubbles one from Spencer & Spencer the best.
I''m not a flower jewelry girl, or a cat jewelry girl (even though I love my kitties) and that last S&S one had that weird thing in the middle too that was just not attractive! I think either the bubbles or the X would look good with anything for casual wear.

I vote for the X too. They come in different sizes so you can choose the bling level

.

As for the Spencer & Spencer flower, perhaps the dark spot in the middle is a reflection of the camera?

Hi

Ana - your "naughty idea" for a pendant is yummy! It is in my wishlist folder - with the 0.8ct diamond pendant for my next birthday and the 0.8cttw martini set diamond studs for birthday 2007 and the diamond bracelet for my 40th in 2011.....Keep focused girl

Since I got my e-ring upgrade this year as well as a ruby and diamond ring for our 5th anniversary, I am trying to keep this years Xmas gift around $500. No use in giving hubby jewelry shock and make him refuse to buy diamonds again. (He can''t understand my obsession as it is)

Anyway, it seems these two got the most votes. Which one do you think is the most bling for your buck, has the most WOW factor considering the small size of the diamonds and will grab attention?

Will it make a difference to you that the Wf pendant has ACA diamonds in and the cut quality of the S&S pendant is unknown?

Xmas Pendant 2 (Medium).jpg

We all know the quality of the WF pendant and since S&S is so new the jury is still out I guess. They wouldn''t be on here if they weren''t good. I have to say I do love their pendant. It''s two different looks. If you want to play it safe go for the WF pendant.

I like the whiteflash one the best. However, the stones total weight indicate that the individual stones are itsy bitsy tiny weeny. So, if you want a response to your new bling- I don''t think this will get it. The 9mm spread includes the gold bars. Each diamond is only 6 points. I''d personnally spend my money on a necklace like this made in cz''s (gasp). Just because the stones are so small noone could ever tell they weren''t diamonds and it wouldn''t cost anywhere near as much. I''m big on spending money where people can see it- on the finger, not the neck or ears :) Just MHO.

I would expect a sparkling dot on the neck line - one more like full-stop . one more like a comma ,

Both are nice dainty pendants. Seriously, I find the small one very flattering and very wearable. The delicate work is as impressive for me as diamond mass

The 'bubble pendant' is very much available in every jewelry store from here to the moon. Including Stuller's and a sum of other seminfinshed catalogs. You can probably find one with any imaginable sort of diamonds set in it.

Good morning!

Thanks to everyone for their input. I think I will show both to my husband and let him choose. Hopefully he will choose the XO pendant
2.gif
(He will get a lot of directions and hints - but he has to feel as if he makes the choice.)

Can anyone tell me what the diameter size of a 0.06ct RB would be? (0.25ct TW/4)

Platinum or WG for a pendant?

Thanks
Maya

If you''re still taking votes
3.gif
, I vote for the kitty cat one first (though I noticed it wasn''t in the final poll), and the Spencer bubbles one next. Both are very nice.

I like the X pendant (the cat is great too!). You never see anyone wearing anything like that. I personally get my pendants in white gold, but if you''re going to wear it a lot and therefore want to spend the extra $ on platinum, go for it. I change my pendants out frequently, so I never spend the extra on platinum. Keep us posted on what you actually get!

I like the circle dangle one a lot. The kitty cat one is unusual but I hate cats (sorry for those cat lovers out there). I don''t think the flower cluster one is very unusual or the x one (i have an x necklace similar that was purchased from qvc years ago, I like it but it is silver and has CZ square stones).
