I’m thinking of possibly changing out my center stone.

This is my current stone it has beautiful sparkle and lights up my walls with rainbows however the center has some dark points I see semi often

1.71 Carat cushion modified diamond

This cushion modified cut 1.71 carat K color vs2 clarity has a diamond grading report from GIA

This is the one I’m contemplating exchanging for

1.50 Carat cushion modified diamond

This cushion modified cut 1.5 carat J color vs2 clarity has a diamond grading report from GIA

The price is about $800 difference with J being less. The face up difference is 6% with J being smaller.

I know nothing about cushions but are you sure you won’t miss the size?
I agree the video of the new stone looks much nicer!

@AprilBaby yes I was thinking the same thing ... it’s only 6% difference but I can definitely see it

Make sure the 1.5 is eye-clean. I would trade the stone for a stone that looks whiter under the table even if I had to give up a little* size.
You havent had your current ring very long right?

I’d go with the J as long as it’s eye clean. The faceting is beautiful.

I dont know what you mean by "normal". Your current stone has a lot of contrast (black) showing when facing straight up (a tad too much for my taste).
I would want one that faces up not quite as dark under the table.

I think you will be less likely to miss the size as much since you haven't had it as long (at least I hope so)!

Thanks everyone I really love it! I was nervous about the rose gold but I’m glad I picked it ... I feel like it makes the stone stand out more... and I can’t believe this is a J it’s super white in my eyes. I’m so thankful for this forum!!

Aw thanks! It was definitely pretty but the setting ending up being a bit too high for my active days with little ones. Im really happy with this lower profile and I love the sparkle of this new J it’s like a dream
