I am new to this board (this is my first post, so bear with me until I learn all the "lingo"

I have an E-ring that is a round solitare w/ 4 prongs (1 ct) - I''m looking to order my wedding band from Signed Pieces (I''ve heard many good things about them). So, help me decide what size would be best with this size E-ring...

I can order either -
25 Round Cut Diamonds, 1.48 tcw. , 2.7mm wide
or
29 Round Brilliant Diamonds, 1.15 tcw. , 2.2mm wide

I''m scared that the first will be too wide (but still want some "bling"), and worried the second would be too thin. What do you guys think?

I like the first one. I don''t think it will be too wide. The second one may be too thin and not enough bling, IMO.

hey stagedva!! welcome to ps!

i agree with kaleigh, i don''t think the 2.7 will be too wide at all........and 1.5cts is purrrrrfect!

I''ve just purchased a sim eternity band to wear with my 84 point solitaire. It''s 2.8 ctw. This is just to give you an idea what this size looks like with an near 1ct solitaire. Sorry if the pic''s a bit blurry.

I would advise you to go to a store that carries shared prong eternity bands and try them on with your e-ring. The reason I''m saying this is that I was so sure I wanted at least a 2CTW round shared prong eternity to wear with a 1.5CT solitaire, but when I put it on...I didn''t LOVE it!

I put on one that was just under 1CTW and knew it was the one.

Let me also say that I have long fingers/big hands so I''ve always thought wider rings looked better on me. I was really surprised at how much I loved the dainty look of this combination...and excited about the possibility of adding a second eternity band in the future without adding too much thickness.

It''s personal preference and you should get exactly what YOU want. However, you may be surprised to find out that what you think you want is not what you like most when it is on your had. Good luck with your decision!

I agree. You have to look at the size of the diamonds, not just the thickness of the bands. The first one you''re looking at are
.06 pointers, which I dare say may be too large for a 1 carat ring & might overwhelm it. It is personal preference however but just to put into perspective, my solitaire is 1.85 carat & I thought that .06 pointers was perfect for that size, not too big not too small. With a 1 carat ring I would stick with .03 or .02. Just my two cents. Good luck with your decision.

On the other hand, I tried on a 1ct full diamond eternity ring in a local shop and decided it was too fine looking for me. I decided that I''d get a cz version which I could wear for a while to see if I liked wearing it on a day to day basis. I had terrible time finding cz version set in yg in Britain so jumped at the chance to get this one, even though it was about a carat bigger than I really wanted. Now that I''ve got it and have been wearing it for a week, I''ve found that I quite like the bigger size.

I feel that this 2.8 ctw is just a tad too big so I think that for me, 2ctw might turn out to be the perfect size. At least now I know what suits me and I won''t waste money on a diamond ring that is the wrong carat weight.

CZ rings can be very useful to try things out in this way. It only cost about $150.
