Am I the only one who is unable to pick a venue for my wedding? I have lists of pros and cons with every single one. The main reasons i''m unable to decide right now are price and distance. I can afford to spend extra money, but all of the places I''m looking at are nice. Is it worth $100 extra per person when I like all of the venues? Also, some of the venues are almost 2 hours from where I live. Over half of the attendees will be from out of state, so I''m not concerned with them having to drive. I am concerned though with some of my friends from LA having to drive 2 hours and then pay for a expensive hotel. People could stay at a cheaper hotel closeby, though. Hopefully it won''t bother them! I really want it to be a fun weekend for everyone especially since so many guests are travelling from the East Coast. Anyway, here''s the places I''m looking at. Which do you like? Feel free to comment!!! I''ll be happy to elabore the pros/cons of each place and the prices.

Sofitel LA www.sofitella.com

Estancia www.estancialajolla.com/

Ivy Hotel www.ivyhotel.com

Parker Palm Springs www.theparkerpalmsprings.com

Surf & Sand www.surfandsandresort.com

Without knowing anything else about them really, I definitely liked the Estancia and the Parker the best. They felt the most welcoming. The problem with modern is that it can feel very cold and dark which is why I liked the Ivy the least. They also seemed to have the best grounds which is such a nice addition. Just my two cents

Sorry, I just realized I should clarify a few things. I think it sounded like I don''t care if my out of town guests have to drive. I meant that I''m not worried about the out of state guests having to drive because all of the venues are close to airports.

Also, while I have the extra money to spend, we''re not exactly rolling in money. Money not spent on the wedding would be put towards a down payment, student loan payments etc.

It is NOT worth $100 pp extra for a venue that you like only equally well unless their is some huge added convenience to you or your guests for choosing the more expensive option. Assuming you are having a medium+ sized wedding.

That would be a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money.

Some more details would help, as well as what vibe you are looking for in a wedding. If you want that modern, clean, sophisticated look, don''t let us tell you otherwise!
