So I am hoping to make a three stone ring one day if Jeff is up to making me one so I will need to source the stones from him. 2 green stones and one pink in the middle.

Or we can flip it the other way around to have one green and two pinks.

Anyways is this too light you reckon? Do I need a more saturated tone?

Save up and got bigger?

Not seriously looking to buy yet but I need ideas/suggestions/helpful hints! Would like to keep this budget friendly so keep that in mind!

I like your inspiration stone, if it’s the same colour in real life it’ll be very pretty. The sidestones can be the same tone or lighter so not to overwhelm centre stone?

Love the idea! I think you should go for a deeper pink though. This colour is very pretty but even as far as light pinks go, this is probably more washed out in real life.

Using available smileys to illustrate how a three-stone with a light pink one in the middle may look. :))

The stone in the original pic looks well-cut to my untrained eyes (can't go wrong with JD's offerings IMHO), and with the right side stones, like mint Garnet, the combination will look great IMHO.

Colour is very personal, some may prefer more saturated stones, some prefer lighter ones.

For me personally, the hue is more important than the saturatio, in that I prefer blue-tone colours to yellow-tone ones.

DK :))

I think pink and green are lovely together, but yes, they should match in tone. Hot pink and demantoid sounds fantastic but pastel pink and green sounds good too! I think you can afford to wait for a good pink. Pinks are not in short supply aside from the unheated hot pink ones.

hehe we could try this too :P2:mrgreen2::P2

I've loved these from Jeff for the longest time but they are probably a bit small

I discussed it with him once and he said it is probably better to stick to the same shape.

You are so right about tone! I have this horror of ending with the clashing tones!

I wish people just make and sell these things! I have no patience for design and CADs. This all seems like a debacle to painstakingly look for stuff!

1 hot pink sapphire and 2 demantoid garnets :)

You know I remember asking about pinks in my first foray into pinks (remember the whole pink tourmaline thing) and you told me there was no going past a pink sapphire! I have to hand it to you! At the time I wanted to cheap out but every time I wear my new pink sapphire I am so satisfied! I'm glad I went with it! It was/is a good pink to double down on if I am only owning one pink!

That's Pink Bandit to the rescue

haha I just realised something! Every time I feel bad about spending money I tell Pink Bandit "I go buy a tourmaline instead" and he gives me this "WTF" look.

Not dissing tourmalines at all (I love mine) but they are my affordable "fix its" for ALL budget problems

I think color preference is personal but Imho think a more saturated tone will look better.

My husband has no idea what stones I’ve been getting. It’s just whether the color is nice or not. All self funded though... so he doesn’t really comment except being speechless when I wailed over a 4 ct diamond recently.

Nothing but fancy coloured diamonds for mine in the next life he tells me! I should enjoy this life before I am burdened with his demands in the next!

Hmmm, they look too saturated for the inspiration stone for me, I would opt for mint Tourmalines or Garnets.

Not sure if I would agree with JD about the shape of the side stones; rounds, traps or trillions in the right proportions would look good with the inspiration stone IMHO.

I am thinking of something like these:

ooh are they they $2000 pair? There is a pair of stones for $2000! Huge ones!

I was looking for examples of colours, not size or shape!

DK :mrgreen2:

haha I was thinking "I would have bought a pair like this for earrings if they were smaller and priced lower. I am so sure these are the $2000 pair I check the stock every day."

They would make fab GIANT studs *sigh*

How about light coloured Aquas with a hint of green?
Like the reverse of my three-stone with an Aqua centre and two Morganite trap sides?

DK :))

oooh I have not seen this ring of yours!!!! Piccie please!

I am not big on blue! Certainly not enough to go through the drama of making a ring! I have the shadiest relationship with blue! Has to be pretty much green I reckon!

The ring has not been made, however I have the Aqua in hand, and JW still has the two Morganite traps until I have the fund to pay for the import duties for the stones he has cut for me.

Here are the pics of the stones and the ring setting I have in mind.

All stones are what I would called icy colours.

DK :))

Whoa!!!!! They are perfect for each other!!!!! Wow!!!!!!

That is perfect and that shade of blue-green I would totally be up for!

I remember your beautiful aqua from the thread where I was asking about aquas.

Who are you going with the make the ring?

I presume they are pricier than tourmalines though yes?

I am in no rush but I shall keep scouting tourmalines as I reckon this is where I might be able to hit the lowest price point.

Thanks for the kind words!

The Aqua was very reasonable as the colour is light. Lucky for me as I love it for an Aqua.

The traps may be smaller, however, as they were custom pieces and incurred his minimum charge per piece, they ended up costing more than the Aqua!

I am most likely to ask diamondmounts of eBay based in China to make this ring - they are my go-to jeweller for custom pieces.

Here is another set, an Aqua with a pink Tourmaline, a mis-match pair from The Gem Trader, and a pic of the ring design I have for them.

Haha I am so glad I started this thread! The things people have stashed away that we don't know about! You have so gorgeous stones!

That emerald cut aqua though! That was a find lady!!!!!!!!

Just drag PB to the HK fair next year.

Yup would pass on them :)

Thank you!

I said yes to JW based on his description of the colour and estimated cut size, and am glad I did.

I saw this and thought of this thread.
Not sure if the colour would suit the OP, however, had I have some spare pennies, I would have snapped this up as it is gorgeous to me!
