Alright girls, here are the two dresses I''m trying to decide between. Dress one is chiffon and has the beading details on the bottom of the dress and train, and a plain back. Dress two has pearl accents on top and in the skirt, and a corsette back. One dress is $200 more expensive. . . but fit me like a glove, the other didn''t fit quite right in the height of the waist and i don''t think can be altered. Which do you guys like better?

I love the first one. I''m not a fan of the neckline on the other.

I love that second one. I''m a big fan of the sweetheart necklines. Probably because I look strange in the straight across ones. And I think corsette backs are just to die for.
I would go for the one that fit you best, like you said, the waistline isn''t something you can really change.

Personally I like the first better, the second just looks a bit off to me.

But that said, I would pick whichever one you said "fits you like a glove." I wouldn''t buy a dress that didn''t fit right and that couldn''t be fixed. If you are still unsure about the better fitting one, I would continue looking around until you are a little bit more sure. I thought I found the dress I loved until I tried just one more on, and that''s when I realized the earlier dress just wasn''t for me.

Good luck!!

P.S. Don''t suppose you have any pics of these dresses on you? That would make it easier for us to see.

I like number one better. The pick-up skirt is not very attractive to me. My mother says that it reminds her of curtains from the 70s and my fiance said it would make me look like a cake.

both are beautiful dresses, but strike me as totally different. Have you tried on others as well and narrowed it down to these 2? I agree that you should buy what fits you and makes you feel the best!! If you need or want to try other dresses on to help you make the final decision, definitely do that.

Number one but I agree with everyone else, don''t by a gown that doesn''t fit right. You''ll be self conscious the whole day of your wedding.

I agree that the two dresses are TOTALLY different..I like the first one alot better, I don't like the curtain scrunchy skirt either...it's such a funny trend. BUT I agree, go with what fits the best...it's very important!

okay. I''m gonna attach a pic that shows a bit more of the first dress (from Davids Bridal)
FOr whatever reason, even thier website doesn''t show the bottom or the back of the gown..

From these pictures, I like the Capri a LOT better. I don''t like the shape of the Davids gown. It doesn''t even look flattering on the model. Sometimes I feel that a-line gowns with no defined waists are very easy to look bad in... unless you are someone who HAS a teeny waist (if you are.. then maybe this gown is perfect for you!)

Any chance of you taking pics of the dresses on you?

i like the first one, but as everyone else has already mentioned...go with what fits and what you feel the best in.

I love the second one! It''s so elegant and pretty...doesn''t remind me of curtains at all. lol

I tried on some dresses like the first one and it wasn''t flattering to my body type. I''m sure both would look stunning on you.

I personally like the first one better. Do you have any pictures with you in the dress. That might change the vote.

I did try on many dresses, the david's one was actually the first I tried on there and I tried on about 12 after but that one looked great on me (better than it looks on the model I think). But the second also looked fabulous. And I do have a pretty thin waist (like 27 inch or something) and I am 5'9" so pretty much everything looks great, which makes this even more hard! The sweetheart neckline does compliment me better though. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of myself. I wish I could try them both on one after the other. Ahh!

I had 3 dresses at one store, 2 at another, that I liked, so my mom and I went and tried on all 5 in one afternoon. After that, I knew which was "the one". Try it, it''ll work better than you think. And try to get at least a cameraphone picture of yourself in both dresses.

They''re such different styles, think about the style of wedding you want to have. If you''re doing an afternoon garden wedding, the 1st is better. Evening wedding in an elegant ballroom, the 2nd. And I wore a Maggie too, and the corset-back is to-die-for!! Cinches you in and plumps you up in just the right places!

Just on the surface, my vote is for #2--lovely, wonderful gown and it sounds like you "feel" good in it. Got pictures yet? I''m late to the string!

I love the neckline and I love the pick-up skirt (or whatever that style is called--anyone know??)
