Hey Guys,

Attached is the diamond, 1.3 Carat, color H, clarity SI2. I wanted to ask you, I just received this photo from the jewelry store, do you think this diamond has too many inclusions? It has twinning wisps as you can see. Theoretically they told me that it is eye clean from 8 inches looking at it. Please let me know as soon as possible what do you think about this diamond. Ofc the quality of the diamond photo is bad but hope you can help me.

Thanks!

It has too many inclusions for me, yes.

Do you think it is better buying H SI2 or I color with VSI2/VSI1 clarity? This is important to me too so I will know which one would look better

That would be a no go for me. They are right under the table and there are quite a bit of them.

I would move down to an I colored eye-clean SI1 or VS2. Have you looked at any well cut I colored stones to see if the color
bothers you or not?

The inclusions in the centre would bug me. If a vendor says it's eye clean at 8 inches this means it's not eye clean. Eye clean is eye clean. You are looking for an SI1 or SI2 that IS eye clean. Is the stone a transitional or a badly cut RB? It has a huge table. Did you know that a slightly smaller RB that is a top cut will optically appear bigger than a larger badly cut stone because it has edge to edge brightness, tricking your eye into thinking the stone is larger than a badly cut stone of a bigger carat weight.

Any stone not graded by GIA is probably going to be several grades out in colour and clarity as well.

I would pass on this one. The inclusions would bug me. Try lowering the color in your search and definitely look for something with a GIA or AGS cert. Good luck!

No, that diamond would not be acceptable to me. Go to eyeclean SI1 at 6 inches or less, GIA 3-Ex cut. You can go down in size and stick with H color or down to I color and same size. Be sure you compare what you are looking at locally with online prices. I did much better online. Please post here before buying and get the GIA report #.

Do you know the good cut parameters? Just in case:

table: 54-58

depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0

pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0

Incidentally, posts about buying diamonds go in the Rocky Talky part of the forum. This one is to show finished rings and jewelry.
