Help with choosing engagement ring diamond

Hi, just currently gone down the rabbit hole of looking for the best diamond for an engagement ring and just wanted a bit of reassurance on my searches.

I’ve done a bit of research regarding ideal ratios, 4Cs, Cut score, HCA, stone algo etc but unsure if I’m getting too bogged down with having the ‘best’ numbers on paper.

I’m only after a small diamond approx 0.7 so is there much point going after the an ideal if the effects aren’t noticeable in person?
