Hi everyone! New to BWW :)

Anyway I have started browsing dresses online (well...started browsing more seriously...I browsed plenty before!) There is a dress I really like that I actually saw about a year or a year and a half ago, and I found it again while browsing this time. The problem is that it is a sample so I am scared there is *gasp* only one :errrr:

I was thinking that I would order it when I am home for Thanksgiving so my mom could see it, but now I am worried that it will be gone! Any advice? I can order it and then I have a week to return it if I decide I don't want to keep it

Can you post a link?

No advice here but I love it! Not that I dislike strapless dresses by any means but they're so common these days that its really refreshing to see wider straps. Weird right?

yeah there are a lot of strapless dresses these days! although I also really like this one that someone posted in another thread...even though it's a totally different look

Have you tried that dress on? I found that pictures and reality are two different things, and if you have not tried it on, I don't think I would order it... or could you return it? I dunno, seems like a lot of work!

When I tried dresses on I found tonnes I likes a lot. Have you gone out trying them on?

Hi slg47

I strongly suggest you take a trip out to a few bridal salons and start trying on all sorts of different styles to get an idea of what looks good on you.

You'll be suprised, I bet, on what you find is the right choice. Almost all wedding gowns look great in the pictures. I would feel VERY uncomfortable ordering something online without being able to try it on first.

Good luck! It really is a fun process - enjoy!

I bought a dress for fear that I wouldn't be able to find it later (discontinued gown). I am still not sure if I will wear it although it is absolutely gorgeous ... it is just so heavy. I am now shopping for yet another gown. I guess my thinking is ... quickly go and start trying on gowns .. if this one is still on your mind than perhaps it is the one.

ditto! i wouldn't go for the online deal if you haven't tried on any dresses irl yet. go out to the bridal saloon, try on lots of shapes. if you think this shape/style is what you love the most--go for it!

I'm going to a store tomorrow-it's a sample store and you don't need an appointment, so I am going to try to get there when they open (or a few minutes before) to try on different styles. Also the store lets you take pics, so I will take some...I am not at my goal weight yet but I can't resist going to just look at some :) :)

If you haven't tried on gowns before, don't buy this one. You need to go and get a feel for what looks good on your body before buying anything. Looking at photos can be very deceiving. You will see a whole bunch of gowns that you love online or in magazines but once you try them on it can be a whole different story.

well I went to a sample store (so fun, because I fit into EVERYTHING in the store!) and they actually had that dress! it was much fuller than in pictures and while beautiful was not really what I had envisioned wearing...but I am so glad I got to actually try it on. I did end up finding a dress that I looove but did not buy it as this was only the first day of shopping...I can attach pics though. What do you guys think? She didn't do up the back but she did hold it together and my waist looked much smaller and the dress sort of looked...well...more fitted

i'm so glad you went irl & tried on dresses.

i love the shape of the one you posted. and love the lace detailing. i'd say keep trying on dresses. honestly i think i went to at least 5 different shops during 5 different trips before i found my dress. and the sales lady pulled it for me, so ask their opinions too. this is their job & they see all different girls (shapes, personalities) in all of these dresses. GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN! you're going to find something gorgeous :)
