I have had my engagement ring reset and (again!) I think the workmanship is rubbish. Anyway, am not getting married until next year however as I wanted a plain wedding band that sits flush with my e''ring I have now realised that my e''ring won''t do that!!!

Here is the closest picture I could find to what my e''ring looks like - it''s a round brilliant 0.71.

I would like to have it set fairly high (I don''t really like cathedral settings or too many prongs and fuss). I was thinking of the Tiffany setting or x prong (or something similar) but would these sit flush alongside a plain wedding band?

Any advice is so gratefully received as I have had a nightmare with jewellers this year!!

Truthfully, that setting scares me. It looks like so much of the diamond is exposed!!I would be afriad of losing or damaging the stone!

I don''t think a band can sit perfectly flush with the Tiffany or the X prong. Have you checked out PrecisionSet? They carry a ton of settings made to sit flush. I know GoodoldGold carries the line.

The sides are not as exposed as that - it''s more of a cup (based on a Theo Fennell design) but I can''t take a photo of my ring to show you exactly.

I basically want to know the most flattering setting for a round solitaire alongside a plain wedding band. Something that shows the stone off to the maximum of course!

THANKS!!
