Help with ideas for an engagement ring for my petite gf

Everyone is so amazing, I cannot thank you enough!!
All of your suggestions are wonderful

Here's how that Emerald might look on her finger. I think I have entered everything correctly.

That's a very pretty stone they have picked out for you - and they're right - it's timeless and different than a round brilliant diamond.

I have one other ring as a suggestion. A Blue Nile Hearts & Arrows.

It's yellow gold but you could have it Rhodium plated so it would look White Gold when you have it sized. I ran it through the HCA tool and it comes out with a 1.5 score so it passes.
Here's how it would look:

So far all amazing choices! I so see a vintage style with those hands!

Something about the black nail polish makes me think that she would be into a vintage-style ring..... This one? It's already tiny, size 4. Once it's sized, it'll look amazing on her.

Needs polishing before it's shipped.

thats funny, as when i look at those nails, i think MQ!

Hmmm, a marquise would look spectacular on those petite fingers. Good call Niel!

OP, what do you think?

I LOVE the ring Lioness suggested. The fact that she likes things that are a bit different and has long, slender fingers, make me think a marquise is a good choice.

On a slightly different note - how would she feel about a rose cut diamond? I'll try to find some images for you.

Right! Somebody was JUST selling a rose cut on LT that would have been utterly perfect. I think it was even like a size 3.5! Alas it sold.

Go back to his first pictures he posted. She had on a halo ring - and on her index finger - it was blingstastic. I think she she is into Sparkle! I don't think a rose cut would be "just the thing". It would have to be an very well cut Rose Cut IMHO.
I'm pretty sure this is the halo ring she tried on at Zales

Which is why I linked to the preset halo ring at James Allen - although I tried to find someone who had actually had seen this ring in person on this board and couldn't find a link. Although it is a little bit above budget - it says it "looks like" it is 1.25 or 1.50 carats depending on the style. I find it is kind of confusing on the web page. They all look the same in the pictures. I have no idea of the quality of the ring - I just assume James Allen wouldn't sell anything he wouldn't put his name on. I think the James Allen ring would be better than the Zales ring any day however - although not the exact same style.

You can get her a black diamond.

you are right i think she needs something blingier than a rose cut or a solitaire, but I'm just not a fan of those cluster rings, so they are hard for me to recommend.

If you could with this (with discount closer to 1600) Id get asets these two diamonds. By doing that, you reserve the two diamonds so no one else buys them, they provide an ASET (a test that helps determine how well a stone performs ) as well as give you their professional opinion about which performs best.

and i would set it in one of these settings.

I know its not got diamonds in the band but that easily remedied by buying a diamond w band to pair with it

My friend has a James Allen preset halo (princess cut shaped), and it is STUNNING in person! The diamonds are icy white and clean.

i don't know if you picked anything yet (please come back and let us know!)

if not i LOVE this, the price is better than you could ask for. Would be AMAZING on her hand, and already close to her size, so sizing down wouldn't be the end of the world.

I would pay to have it professionally touched up, fresh mill grain, what have you. Maybe some engraving on the shank.
