Help with Montana sapphire ring

I’d like to make a ring with this sapphire I recently got from Gemfix and some diamonds that I repurposed from a broken setting in the inherited stuff. I like the setup I’ve got here, but I’m open to suggestions. What I really need help with is the setting. Bezel is out since she doesn’t like those, and I’d like it to be a little more exciting that just a basket holding the center. I think I’d like yellow gold with a satin finish. She has a dark, warm, skin tone so white gold doesn’t look the best (in her opinion) and shes afraid rose gold would be too pink. I think a high karat rose gold would be nice as well.

What do you think? Any similar rings I should mimic? DB38D9A3-8568-4A5A-8BB0-F0925D4DFD84.jpeg3C5179E8-5109-42D0-B7B4-7950C6A956FB.jpeg

Love Montana sapphires! Here are a couple of ideas, one a bit more extravagant than the other. I would prefer white or rose gold with these stones. Just keep in mind that with pastel tones, the color of the metal can definitely play with a stone's apparent color. Good luck!

Thanks! That feels a little too engagement ring to me, whereas I’m just looking for something more right hand casual. I was thinking more along the lines of this but I know she doesn’t like double claw prongs and the basket seems too plain. I think single claw would be fine, maybe 6 instead of 4, but what could I do with the basket? :confused:641BF36D-7F57-400B-B5C2-0371A84FA2B0.jpeg5F8790FF-64C6-4252-9D4C-8794A76D2BC3.jpeg

Oh sorry, I thought by your OP that you were specifically not looking for a simple 3-stone ring. But I love the design you shared! Not sure there are too many different things you can do with just the basket though. Perhaps you can add a small single diamond to either side, or a set of pave stones like this (ignore the band)...

Basket possibilities really are endless. If you just poke around this site a little you'll see a wide range of type. What would she like better, soft, swirly, angular, or architectural?
The link above is just a small example of the possibilities involving not only baskets but under galleries!

And this is why I consider myself a rockhound as opposed to a jewelry connoisseur! I had no idea there were so many creative ways to design a basket!! :read:

Thanks! I think soft with a little bit of swirly. Nothing too intricate but the plain one of the design I’m leaning towards is too plain. I like the idea of two small diamonds on the side! I’ve got more small ones laying around, ill try finding something like that :geek:
