Looking for ideas to set a moissanite that i will be getting. (hopefully this is allowed in the thread since it's about the setting).

Center stone will be a 2:1 ratio moval 18x9mm on a size 4.5-5 finger.

Setting Budget $1500

Not interested in a halo setting as that's what my ering setting is, not a fan of 3 stone settings but can be persuaded :)

Current Idea 14k rose gold under halo similar to this setting but without the micropave on the band to keep the cost down.

Thanks for your help!

How about an east-west setting? Though your stone might be too big for your finger in that style. Still, it’s a great style for a marquis/moval!

Haha thanks east-west is nice I just don't think it's my style and I went for a moval because I was hoping for something that would have an lengthening effect on my short and stubby fingers

I really like that setting!! It's so pretty and sparkly but really allows your moissanite to be the center of attention!

I'm not so great at technical names since I'm still new and learning, but how do you feel about antique-like settings? Like an Edwardian or Art Deco-inspired style?

Oooooh let me go to Google for a moment....

So for Edwardian, that would have lots of delicate embellishment, think filigree and floral themes!

And Art Deco designs are often much more angular/geometric but still luxurious.

There are lots of other antique styles out there too, like the Victorian style.

I know this article is referring to engagement rings, but I still think it's helpful to get more of a grasp on the "four main" antique styles seen out there: https://www.gemsociety.org/article/vintage-engagement-rings/
