Help with stone setting pretty please!

Hello everyone,

I am interested in this setting to upgarde my boring plain ruby ering. (Needs some bling! LOL)

0.28Ct Pave Diamond 14K Gold Semi-Mount Engagement Ring
Fit 6.0× 8.0 to 7.0×9.0 mm Oval Cut Stone

I measured my oval ruby (with an office ruler - professional I know!) and its 6.5mm lengthways (top to bottom) and 5mm widthways (across).

Do you think that would fit nicely in this setting???

If I have to I will get him to make it to fit but I just wondered if it would fit already within this range. Thanks for all help in advance.

No it wouldn''t fit. 6.5 x 5 is not going to fit into a 8 x 6 setting. That''s 1.5mm difference lengthwise and 1mm difference width wise. Besides that, those are the lower numbers-if the other measurement is what the setting actually is, then it''ll be a 2.5mm lengthwise and 2mm width wise problem.

It''s very possible you''re going to have to get something custom made because of the odd dimensions of your stone. You might ask that ebay seller if they could do something for you.
