Help with suggestions on Diamond and Sapphire E-Ring

Hi there ladies...I have been lurking for a few weeks now and am a ''Lady in Waiting'' my BF and I have been talking bout getting married for a bit and have started the looking process...ATM he is away on buisness and wont be back til the last week of Feb...So im using this time wisely to get ideas about the ring. We both agreed that since I work with may hands ALL day and with animals that a 4 prong setting is the BEST way to go... so that a majority of the stone is covered w/o many prongs to get caught or pulled...seems the safest lol. we BOTH agree that we like the look of a diamond center w/ sapphire accents. And we like the look of a 3 stone ring...have no prefferance as to if the center is big and the sides significantly smaller or if they seem to be more proportionate in size to the center. I have tried on a few rings so far to get an idea as to the size of the center stone (i have small 5.5 fingers and dont want it to look TOO big for me either) Id say prolly 1-1.6 would be fine. And we have no set idea for the style of the band ie. plain, channel set or pave...same size round or tapered in at the top...im open for suggestions on side shapes etc. just kinda lookin for ideas. he did set a budget of $4-6G ....BUT i think 6 is too much to spend...specially to be wearing to my job lol. I work in a kennel and sell puppies...so...anyway...im NOT looking for the PERFECET stone....id be happy with eyeclean and NO yellow...so i guess like G-I color and up to say a S2. If you guys happen to see anything thats eye catching in the ball park of ID rather him spend up to $4500...dunno if this is doable... ANY pic ideas on center diamond w/med-dark blue sapph sides would be GREATLY appreciated...cant wait to see your ideas...andTHANKS in advance

Have you had a look at half bezels? They can look very elegant - and would be good if you are working with your hands all day.


PS: Can I put in a plea for no more blue italic writing - it really made my eyes hurt, and could you subdivide into paragraphs. You''ll get more responses that way.

Pandora...Thank you for your suggestion on the half bezel...but its really not a style I like...thanks tho...and i DO appologize for the txt color...its a habbit. sorry

To everyone else that posted a response here: your rings are all BEAUTIFUL and I got some good ideas from them. Does anyone have a 3 stone with a differant shaped sapphire on the sides?
