Help with wedding colors!

Hi all!
So I''ve been thinking about wedding colors and I thought i had it all figured out but now I''m not so sure. Tell me what you think.

I thought I''d have the BMs wear a rich pewter color (or some other form of grey) and then have the flowers be mostly white/green with pops of purple. I love the bright green of cymbidium orchids with that magenta-y purplish center. that''s kind of the color purple I was imagining. i also thought it might be nice to have the bm''s wear purple (but a more neural shade) and carry white/green flowers. Keeping all 3 colors in the centerpieces. thoughts?

I think so. I have been seeing a lot of the pewter color BM dresses lately, and I think that there are many colors that go well with it. You might want to consider doing an off-white flower instead of stark white, but you would have to see the dresses or a swatch in person to see which tone of white would be better. I think that the purples and greens would go well also. I would definitely try to focus on the more summery colors and only really use the pewter color for the dresses and maybe a few small accents here and there.

thanks girlface! yeah, i''d only be using the pewter as the dresses. the reasoning behind that color choice is that one of my girls, actually the moh, prefers neutrals. i''ve ever seen her in anything but black or brown at an event. i want to lighten things up with the flowers though.

I LOVE those colours together... and especially agree that the white should be an off-white. I picture almost a cream colour being beautiful! As for it being a July wedding, I think it can still work if you can manage to keep it light (if that makes sense). Maybe try to use light fabrics for the pewter dresses and soft hairstyles. I think as long as long as you stick to pewter accents for the decor and more the creams/greens/purples it would be fabulous!

ETA: This inspiration board is pretty... and would go with pewter IMO Purple/Green

My bridesmaids wore dark purple and carried lime cymbidium orchids with purple throats. I thought they looked fabulous, and I got so many comments about how flattering the color was on everyone. I posted a wedding thread recently with photos.

I love the mostly green & ivory scheme with purple flower touches and pewter BM dresses. Sounds stunning.

I have a thread on here somewhere with a pewter bridesmaid dress. The colors you are describing are exactly what I am doing for my sept. wedding. The reason we went with purple dresses over the pewter was because a few of my bm''s looked terrible in the pewter. It totally washed them out. Anyway of course I love those colors!

I''m going to the florist on 8/7 so i wanted to have an idea in mind of what to do. not going bm dress shopping til october probably. i kept wondering if i needed to have the girls dresses picked out before talking with the florist....
