Im still stunned. I know we are all busy this time of year, but here goes ~


This customer comes in and before he goes on a cruise he wanted his wifes ring set more center in the ring. Simple adjustment relocating the large diamond head over in this large band a no brainer. I told him I was going to need about 4 days just to get to it and then its a job that will take short time to do. $22.

He said he wanted to have it done now but was not going on vaction till next week. I gave him a name of a local jeweler that was honest and does a good job. The jeweler looked at the ring and said its a simple job but will take about a month to get to doing it and it will cost $730 !!!! The customer was so shocked he told him "you must be insane" and came back over for me to work on the piece. He picked the ring up today and was happy.

I''m really wanting to know how he got $730 out of a job that you would charge $22 for. It''s not we''re talking about a few bucks here. Also, why a month?

Talk to this jeweler for me and find out what he''s smokin'' cause I want some LOL!

There is no telling how long it will take to get such a job right, so $22 is a token amount and might not get anything close to the results you are after. Think of the qualified setters earnings.

You have gone the full gambit as far as prices are concerned. Run!
