Hey asked my mom for permission!!

This weekend we were visiting my mom in Florida and while we were all out at dinner for my mom''s birthday, my bf asked my mom for permission to marry me!!!


Now if only we could decide on the damn ring!! Still trying to figure out what I want. I''m ready to get engaged already!

Congratulations! Did you or your mom started telling everyone in the family? My parents did, and now everyone consider us engaged. Not that it's a bad thing, but I have a feeling that once I do get the ring everyone will be like "Well, you are engaged already. Why make a big fuss again just because you have a ring??"

He did it at the table in front of all six of us at the table. He was really nervous to ask. I knew he was going to ask but he wasn''t sure about when or how to bring it up. He saw a good opportunity at dinner when I asked my mom if I could try on her wedding ring (which I always do when I visit her). He said, "Did Meredith tell you we are talking about getting married?" and she said, "Well, she told me you were looking at rings" and I honestly cannot remember where the conversation went from there because it went by so fast but next thing I know my mom was saying , "Go for it man!" and we all did a big toast. It was pretty cute.

I am so confused about what kind of ring I want. I keep changing my mind. I was deadset on a cushion diamond w/ lots of pave in the setting but now I''m leaning towards a very simple round briliant w/ a plain band. Ugh! I''m so torn and he really wants me to make up my mind by this weekend. We are going down to a store in Denver to try on a setting I''ve been looking at online. My boyfriend went to the trouble of having the setting from good old gold brought in to this other jewelry store so just so I can try it on. I am really hoping it looks and feels great on my hands because I love the pics of it but I have a feeling its going to be uncomfortable and I may end up opting for a more simple band. The pressure to make up my mind is definitely on me now!!

Oh, you are so lucky!! Most guys (at least for mine) are like "I just asked for permission! Gimme a break!" How exciting! Waiting for yummy details and trial results!
