Hi Lindy,

Welcome! Take the opportunity of having found pricescope to educate yourself about diamonds, so that you can get the very best quality for your money! Trust me, it makes a HUGE difference to have a good quality stone and this site will show you how to choose one. There is just NO comparison in terms of beauty between a well cut, quality stone and the junk that so many people wear around.

Look under ''knowledge'' at the top here.... have fun!

Welcome!

I like that ring too! Can''t comment on the specs or anything, but I really like the design. I don''t think I''ve seen anything like it on the boards as yet.

Thanks Sha, I thought the same thing :)
Funny, BF and i were shopping once and i tried on a "loose" stone...only I wanted to turn the princess cut stone diagonally instead of like a square...i never expected to see one like the way i had in my mind! anyways, i love the stones on the band too...but do any of y''all have experience with eternity bands of loose diamonds? i.e. do they hurt? is it worth having the rocks go all the way around? i''m a newbie :)

Hey Lindy and welcome!

Question--are you a swing dancer by any chance? Just asking because of the name...

It''s actually relatively common and easy to find. I believe the term for having the points at north-east-south-west is "starset," someone please correct me if I''m wrong. Many designers are also more than willing to tweak their settings for that style.

Many, many, MANY Psers have eternity bands (that''s the term for the stones-all-the-way-around thing you''re asking about). It''s one of the most popular options for wedding bands now, probably second only to a plain band.

Whether or not it''s uncomfortable is a matter of design and personal preference. Some people find them bothersome, some quite comfortable. It really depends.

Please don''t buy your engagement ring from overstock.com. Please, please! Spend some time reading on here (the "Show Me The Ring" and "RockyTalky" folders will be much more helpful than this one), and you''ll very quickly understand why I say that.

Welcome Lindy I totally agree with Indy and Musey.

Please do look at the other pages and get the best diamond that you can. Many designers will do that type of ring for you. Have fun shopping for them!

Looks like a very unique ring! PRETTY!

Girls, thanks for the suggestions and thoughts. BF and I are not actively looking at rings yet, but when I saw the design on OS, I bookmarked it because the design was unique. I will definitely take your ideas into consideration.

A friend of mine recently got engaged and suggested BlueNile. Does anyone have experience with that site?

Well- have a great week, everyone!

Blue Nile pops up around here every now and then, but isn''t heavily favored. The general consensus is that you can find better quality for the price elsewhere, but there are a couple of big supporters that like to dissent that opinion.

The most commonly suggested vendors on here are James Allen, Whiteflash, Good Old Gold, Engagement Rings Direct, and others that I''m forgetting right now. My ring was done through Winfields (winkjones.com).

If you have an idea of what you''re looking for, you can post a thread over in Rocky Talk and you''ll find TONS of helpful suggestions. Many people sort of let PSers do the heavy lifting for them, and don''t mind it one bit!
