Is it anything like this?

Sorta, in that it has those gaps, and in that the band looks pretty thin. I really want thin, thin, thin. But I guess what I like needs to be at least a little bit over 2mm. But in this ring, the gap comes up higher, and the metal builds up to sit with the diamond, like it''s flush.

WELCOME Fisherof men!

Heh heh, I''m sooo glad I''m not the only one checking to see if my beloved has posted! Everytime a newbie posts something on Rocky, I go and check. I get this little thrill of excitement until I see that it can''t be him. Seems like people are either looking for diamonds out of our budget or are in school, or have been dating for 6 years. There hasn''t been anyone who could be him. But it''s still fun to look!

I certainly understand! I have nooo patience either, and my bf isn''t even seriously looking yet. I think. *bleh*
Two of the most useful lessons from LIW, is a) guy time versus girl time, and b) they get a bit sadistic in the name of making it unique and a surprise. Hopefully the fact that he''s looking seriously at rings means you won''t have to much trouble with ''boy'' time!

I think venting here is very helpful! It''s certainly better than venting to my bf!

The fact that there is an entire community of women who are anxious, emotional, and obsessed about the very same thing, made me feel alot better about it.
People who have never been in our position just can''t understand. I just don''t have anyone live I can go to. All of my local friends are divorced and unhappy, my mother married her highschool sweetheart the second she graduated from college (dad), and my sister had her guy asking her to marry her daily starting about two weeks after they met. Plus sis-dear is anti-jewelry so can''t understand how anyone can get this worked up about a silly ring!

Other than PS, the best thing I''ve found for calming the rising anxiety is to hug my bf. (yes tmi) The warm hazy glow of contentment and love tends to drown out any worries. (Also works for pms!) Planning something also helps me.

Granted I haven''t been able to stop myself from checking on ''my'' rings/diamonds, so my advice may not be worth much! Speaking of which, I''m off to do my daily check!

How about this one?

It sounds like you are talking about a cathedral type mounting, which both of these rings are. Am I close?

The ring I fell in love with (the expensive, designer one) he actually found for me, but now he says he doesn''t like it. I''m trying to remember where it came from. It has some funny, not American name.

Does the diamond sit in prongs? Or does it look like the metal on the sides is holding the stone in?

Yeah, it''s more like that one, but with a thinner band, and it just looks more delicate. I don''t know. Oh, I think the band we ended up liking was a Rosseque, or something. It looks sort of like the one we liked, but for oodles less, and then topped with the garden setting.

No, it has prongs. That''s the gardeny flowery part of it. Dang, what''s the name of that designer? They make tiny, delicate things, lots of fluidity in what they design.

that''s funny!!! I also check on Rocky talk to see if my BF is the one asking the question! hahaha....
The other day a story on "Proposal story" freaked me out (same birthday as the girl this guy was referring too!!!)....good thing he mentioned places, otherwise I would have really thought it was him!

Try looking at this page of jewelry designer links...maybe it will trigger something.

Dang! I am SO curious to figure this out now!

ETA: Doh! Here's the link!

Oh my goodness Mandarine, that would make me almost PEE I''d be so nervous to think it was me, but not me! Wow! Did you cry? I would so cry.

Does anyone know the brand where the diamonds are small, the designs are kind of curvy like, and the site''s not in English, unless you ask it to be? The inspiration came from there.

I *think* he said someone here helped him find it. But I don''t know.

Was it a Japanese designer? There''s one that makes wavy delicate designs, but they''re so darned expensive.

I almost cried!!! until I kept reading where they lived!!!!.....can you imagine???????????

I think you are referring to the rings that Wren likes....what was the name???...hmmm...they are beautiful!!!

Is it something like Niwaka or Nikawa? (I can''t remember the order of the consonants.)

Yeah! Something Asian, but I don''t remember the name. Yeah, the one I like is something like 6,000 dollars and it''s only a .40 diamond. I was like, WHAT in the world?

THAT''S IT! Niwaka! That''s the one. I love that ring, and then I was crushed when I found out how much it was. It would take YEARS to save for something like that, and knowing me, I''d lose the flipping thing because I''d be so nervous about carrying something around on my finger worth more than anything I own. Then he found a way to make an almost exact replica and I was SO happy. Then like maybe two weeks ago he tells me he really prefers the more "traditional" solitaire.

Blenheim that''s it!!!

oh oh.....

I think I need to keep my mouth shut

Fisher...hmmmmmmmm...you do need to stop poking around here!!! OUT!!!

Just joking!...but it would be funny if my suspicion was right!!!

I was so the same way! The post that I saw had me convinced until the guy came back to say that he had proposed. Even after that, I thought it was maybe my BF trying to throw me off because he knew I had seen it. The poster still hasn''t posted hand pics, but I don''t think my BF would have bought this cushion if he already had a whole ring made! LOL

Any luck finding it yet?

So my Paul''s been here? Do you guys know anything? Do you? Because he made me promise to stop talking to Whiteflash, but I still email. But, I''ve not heard anything back in like a hot minute now.

Oh geesh. Now I want to know more.

Hey, and he just called me from school asking what I''m doing. I told him nothing, I was just playing with my puppy. It''s not a total lie, I am playing with her.

I did find it, but I can''t get it to come up as a picture on here. But yeah, it is a Niwaka, and it''s under the bridal collection, and it''s the second one posted.

I don''t know anything!!

Seriously I don''t know his name....but if you think there is a chance you might spoil his surprise then you do seriously need to not look!!!....since there is a good chance you might find out something...and that''s just really sneaky!!

It''s Easter weekend!...be good and don''t look around!

You are still welcome to chat with us though

Most people don''t give their names, so I''m not sure if Paul has been posting. It''s very easy to see your boyfriend in a lot of different threads. A lot of us here have done it with our own guys! I think some people might be recalling guys who have wanted cathedral settings, or Niwaka/Nikawa (need to figure out how to spell that) rings, and wondering if they''re your boyfriend. I wouldn''t worry about it.

In all seriousness though, it seems like he wants to make it a surprise. I know that it''s really really hard, but I''d really try to back off looking at most areas of Pricescope. Just think of how wonderful it would be to see the ring the first time as he''s proposing, and as you can finally put it on your finger and wear it and show it to all of your friends! A lot of our guys want to surprise us. I had a psycho pre-engagement episode a little bit ago in which I found a ring box hidden away in my room, and wondered if he was trying to hide my engagement ring there. People pointed out that he obviously wants it to be a surprise, and it''s really hard to fake a reaction, and I''m pretty sure that you wouldn''t want to feel guilty about finding things out before he wants you to. It seems like you may not need to wait all that longer to see it the way that he''ll want you to first see it, if he''s been looking at rings like that!

Of course, he may not have posted on here at all. And even in that case, look how crazy we''re all driving ourselves by thinking that guys we''ve never met are about to propose to us!

hahaha...that''s pretty funny Blenheim!...

That is my point exactly....don''t look around...I don''t know any Pauls (but nobody posts their names in here)....but you don''t want to spoil this surprise OR get you hopes up by a thread that doesn''t relate to you...

So keep playing with your puppy...I''ll keep looking at my BF take a nap and let''s keep on waiting!!!!!!!

LOL...isn''t it Roseco that you like??? Cathedral type setting with a flowery type head...that''s what I''m invisioning anyway
2.gif

Sweetie...let you man do his thing and wait for the surprise. We can all appreciate how excited you are but if you ruin things for him and yourself it won''t be near as special as he''d like it to be. Take it from someone who hates surprises and ruined her own proposal...it''s not fun for the man when he''s got specific plans and HE''S trying to take charge and we women are driving them nuts and poking around. He''s going to be disappointed IF he''s here and he finds out you are here trying to find out what he''s doing. I think he really, really wants you to be surpised and happy with his choice. That''s just my opinion ofcourse...I don''t exactly know your fiance or anything!
