My personal suggestion is that you stay in ONLY this thread. Don''t poke around (I''m repeating myself). I had a suspician after I read your introduction, but there''s a lot of guys around here and a lot of similar ladies too....

I would just hate for you to ruin your man''s eventual surprise. I know I''m redundat and everyone is saying the same thing, but please just chat with only us right here in this one thread okeydokie??? :) Well, you can chime in on my other thread too, but THAT''S ALL

Well, as much as I like that ring, and even more so the replica (I''m frugal by nature) of it, he doesn''t like it. He told me like a week or two ago that he''d decided it wouldn''t be a good choice, that the diamond would sit up too high, he thinks. I''m a bit clumsy, so it''s a fair statement. I thought about maybe a bezel, but I just don''t think they''re pretty. He used to hate them, said they looked like flying saucers landing on a finger, but now he likes them. And he calls me indecisive.

You playing with that puppy yet?
1.gif

What kind of puppy, by the way? And how old is he/she? Do you have any pictures? (I''m a bit puppy obsessed at the moment.)

LOL I get the whole indecisive thing from my BF too --- although he changes his mind just as much!!! The other day he told me that the reason he was taking so long was because I constantly changed my mind about the setting --- and then he gave me a whole other laundry list of other rather lame excuses. I just told him the reason I keep changing my mind is that I have been looking for over a year and I am bound to see other things. I told him that he better hurry up or I will just keep on changing my mind!!!
27.gif

Ah boys!!! Actually I think my BF may be up to something, but I know that it is really important to him that it be a surprise, so I am trying to stay out of it!!!
4.gif

fisherofmengirly, I agree with all the other ladies --- just stay in this thread if you think your BF might be on the site. If he wants to make a wonderful surprise proposal, you should let him do that. He will only get to do it once (unless you want to renew your vows or something), so please let him have a great moment to show you how special you are to him and how grateful his is to have you in his life!!! Just my $.02

ACK!

You''d get used to a cathedral that sits a bit higher...mine sits high and at first I was thinking...I dunno if I''m going to like this but it makes the stone look soooo much bigger and it stands out tons
1.gif
I have 2 kids so knocking my stone around is inevitable but I really love the choice I made with the cathedral...its classic and I won''t get tired of it after another few years like I did my first e-ring setting

Ok, maybe we can make some allowances for posting in the Easter thread, but PLEASE stay in this thread. And play with your puppy. And enjoy the Renaissance Fair and Easter Sunday.

Now being a curious woman by nature myself do you really think that''s possible???? I hope her BF is NOT posting here or IF HE WAS that he''ll stop posting his details when he comes across this thread. I''m sure he''ll know it''s her and vice versa if she runs across any threads she''s suspicious of she''d know it would be her man too.

WE aren''t helping her curiosity problem any by telling her to stay here. I think there are a few threads that men have started here that could fit her bf''s bill
2.gif
and we are all thinking of them but if she has self restraint then maybe she''ll just stay here. I know I couldn''t do it though LMAO so that''s why probably coming here would be a bad idea...at least for me if I was waiting (LOL..I''m long past the waiting stage...just an old married of almost 6 years with 2 kids now).

Fisher really...there are some really great considerate men around here trying to figure out some wonderful options for their intendeds. I really hope you can limit your curiosity and let your man surprise you at least with the ring if nothing else. If he''s any of these few guys...you are a very lucky lady! The few that are around seem to be very, very good young men and deeply in love with their girls. So much so that the decisions they are making are driving them mad trying to find that ''perfect'' ring for their lady!

While I''m dying to know if my bf goes on PS, I wouldn''t actually read his threads. Bad karma!

I''m a total klutz too, so I''ve asked my bf for something a bit lower set and sturdy. I''ve worn a ring that was a little higher up and I swear I whacked everything with it!

Another welcome
35.gif

I have to just say my bf knows I am here and he wouldn''t be caught dead perusing this site so I have no worries of accidently finding him on here! Its kind of a relief for me I guess.

I really have only stayed in this forum, promise. I clicked on the Easter support thing because I was wondering why in the world anyone would need support on Easter, the happiest day of the year for a Christian. But now I get it. Some questions are inevitable...

But all these posts telling me to NOT go anywhere else make me think at least a couple of you think you have seen things he''s said. But then again, it is a BIG world.

Speaking of that, where are you guys living?

It''s a beautiful day here, and I hope it is for all of you, too. I love it!

*I* have pictures of FlipFlop (my doggie), but I don''t think Paul has any saved on his camera. I COULD take a new one for you, but someone broke into my car about a month ago and stole my purse and my brand-new-just-got-it-for-Christmas-from-Santa-AKA-mom&dad digital camera. Please, NO questions about why I''d left either in my car... I heard that stuff for ages it seems. Anyway, I finally got insurance money back and most likely I''ll go get another one tonight. Not to be left in my car, ever!

Flip''s mommy was a pure bread Chihuahua. She was tiny, maybe 6 pounds, but probably less. I don''t know who her daddy was, though. I got Flip when she was 3 months old; she and a sibling and her mom had been abandoned by my aunt''s neighbor. Now she''s almost two years old (May 5 is her birthday)... cinco de mayo, as such, her middle name is Corona. Anyway, she''s pure black, has LONG legs for her little body, and is about 11 pounds. She''s a cross between a Chi and a Terrier, I think. My boyfriend says she''s part Chi and part tazmanian devil. She''s um, very SPIRITED. Hyper. Happy. Something with a positive spin, but it can be tiring when I first get home. Takes her about an hour to "calm down." She''s really not a puppy anymore, but she still looks like one since she''s so little.

Awww --- your dog sounds like a sweetie!!! I (well my parents) have a 9 year old bichon and she still thinks she is a puppy --- and she is still hyper!!! I think some dogs are just like that. We would all love pics of the pup if you have some in the future.

I am one of the few Canadian ladies on the forum I think. The weather is beautiful here today and all the snow melted last week (yay!!!). It is finally starting to look like spring around here!

I almost cried!!! until I kept reading where they lived!!!!.....can you imagine???????????

I think you are referring to the rings that Wren likes....what was the name???...hmmm...they are beautiful!!!

Yep! I''m just nuts about their rings! (name change to hide from bf!) I love the Niwaka rings and I also emailed WF about making a copy. Since I''m sooo clumsy I''m more interested in their very low, integral settings. But there are a bunch of different styles I like.
I kinda like the idea that my bf''s going to be making the final choice. I feel that it''s important that the ring reflects both of our tastes since it''s a symbol of our love. Granted I''d kinda like some more input, control issues and all!

Aww, your pup sounds so cute. I call almost all dogs puppies, which confused the heck out of my BF at first. I'm so sorry that your camera was stolen.

You're right, it is a big world, and I think that some are probably overreacting. The reason why people are saying to stay on this thread is that guys, in addition to ladies, will post on the LIWs thread. Some ask for advice about timing proposals, some ask for advice on how to propose, and some just want to introduce themselves so that we can we see what it's like on their end and hopefully calm ourselves down on why it's taking so long. Basically, there's some stuff on this forum that really belongs in the Proposal Ideas forum, and some people are worried that you'll see threads that guys have started and read a bit into it. It's basically for the same reasons as us telling you to stay away from Rocky Talk and Proposal Ideas, because some threads are a little misplaced.

I'm in beautiful Virginia, but I just had surgery and so I can't quite get out and enjoy the weather. I can spend the afternoon talking to you, my wonderful new friend, though.

It is very nice outside her in NoVa too. I have been MIA the past couple of days and I didnt realize you had your surgery! I hope it went well and you are relaxing in bed! Where are you in VA, by the way?

The surgeon said it went pretty well. If you want more details, there''s a thread in the hangout section. I''m currently laying flat on my back on my parent''s couch in NoVa, but I usually live in rural VA.

Actually, when I first saw your name, I was trying to figure out if Virginia was your name or your location.

Yeah it finally got to a point where my boyfriend was like, WOAH. Let me do this. So, I''ve been trying. And probably for a month or more now I''ve not been showing him new pictures of things I like. I went through quite a list of things I liked, though. And then I finally really settled on one that just makes me think it''s pretty and delicate and won''t totally engulf my finger, and I LOVE that it''s not to incredibly expensive.

Have any of you heard of this before? I''m thinking of making my own invitations (I have a lot of nervous habits when BIG things are going on in my life, so being creative and crafty helps me with that), so when I finally do get to marry Paul, I was thinking of maybe using the characture that we have done *hopefully* tomorrow and having it shrunk down to like a tiny image, sort of morphed maybe into a round or oval shape, on the front of our announcements/invitations. One or the other. Or both. I don''t know. We''re not going to do anything fancy, I''m not fancy by any means, and he isn''t either. I mean, we''re not looking for whitetrash or anything, but just not going in debt in the process.

My mom says it''s not a good idea, it''s childish. I think it''s awesome and very creative, and especially with the special paper we''ll use. Paul says it''s fine, and his mom, who''s also creative and an artist, says that''d be really cool. Since both of us are a bit older, we plan on doing this on our own, with minimal monetary support from our parents''. Neither of us want to go in debt because of it, nor do we want our families to be. Any ideas? I''m thinking of it being pretty small, with the words of the bible verse we''ll use as our theme circling it, or the date we choose, or something... just a little decal kind of thing. Not this HUGE cartoon. I think it could even be classy, if done in the right way.

He he, I just stumbled upon this thread and it is too cute. But, seriously my dear....only stay in the LIW (Ladies in Waiting) forum. It is dangerous to look around for him and/or his posts!
23.gif
Let him plan what he is planning, if he is planning it. Which I am pretty sure he is.
20.gif

It is a nice day. Go outside and play! Read gossip magazines! Do something..anything! Get your mind off of it!
35.gif

BTW: Happy Good Friday to you too, sister! It is such a wonderful day....but Sunday is the best! I love the service on Easter Sunday!
Good advice!

I''m in Little Rock Arkansas and the weather''s finally beautiful today! I''ve been hanging out on here trying to figure out how to post pics for most of the day and should go outside instead, huh??

Blenheim, I''ll check your other thread, but in the meantime I hope you''re doing ok and recovering well!

jen

Blenheim,Glad to hear you''re recovering well!

It started out lovely here, but it''s turned grey and windy. So much for not believing the weather forecast.
7.gif
Still in the high 60''s though. No chance of rain, unfortunately
7.gif
Which should tell you I''m in the currently very dry Southwest.
2.gif
At least we have some lovely flowering trees, and tulips! I love spring.

My mom mentioned to me yesterday that the post office is now printing digital images that the customer provides on stamps, for an additional fee. While it would make mailing invitations more expensive, she thought it might be cute to have stamps with a photo of my boyfriend and me on them. I''m sure that they would work with a caricature, too.

I can''t quite figure out what I think about using the caricature on the invitation itself, partly because I''m not sure what the caricature itself would look like. Could we agree that the bridal forum is "safe"?
2.gif
There are some graphic designer brides there who may have more ideas.

Blenheim,

I hope you feel all better soon. I would read what you went through, but I''m only allowed to stay here for now.
9.gif
That face cracks me up, by the way.

I actually need to check and see if we can go to the renaissance festival tomorrow. I''ve never been, but I think it''d be a lot of fun. My boyfriend had been planning on going to the amusement park though. Some new rollercoaster opened this month, so he''s been crazy about going. But, I want to get him a season pass for his birthday, and I''d like for it to be closer to his birthday (two days before FlipFlop''s), otherwise I''ll feel bad not having much of anything for him on his birthday.

I have to confess this, too. Today I went to the store to get stuff for my pedicure (I LOVE the feel of using that exfoliating stuff, then the rough spots are so smooth. It''s like magic) and I had to pass the jewelry section first. Just had to. Paul''d said that he thought 4mm would be best for me, that someone''d told him anything less wouldn''t be safe. So, I asked to see a 4mm plain band. YUCK! It covered my finger. I mean, it just looked so manly. I hope he was only saying that to mess with my head.

I think Fliip and I will go play ball. Isn''t it funny how a little bitty dog can still open her mouth big enough to catch a ball?

Thanks! I had back surgery on Tuesday, but am already feeling a lot better.

I have a feeling that he was trying to mess with your head. Most debate I''ve read over band width is about whether or not something around 2 mm is "too small." Oh, men.
20.gif
1.gif

My parents have a pug, and she''s hilarious when she pushes a tennis ball around, trying and failing to get the darn thing in her tiny mouth. Does your chihuahua succeed?

Okay, I better let you go play with your pup.
9.gif

Wow...4mm really? That is pretty wide! I have a 3 mm on a size 5 finger and I think it''s wonderful! I tried on 4mm and thought it was too covering especially with a wedding band as well. You should go and try some settings on so you get a feel for what mm width you like best. I did that before choosing my new setting. I was really glad too. I thought I would want a 2mm for it being so thin but turns out that was too thin for me. Looking never hurts
2.gif
Enjoy your nice weather and your puppy! It''s rainy here and I need to clean my house for Easter dinner!

Um, if my boyfriend has any "bridal ideas," he''s been hiding something from me!

Yeah, I''ll have to see how the drawing comes out. If I look ridiculous, of course we won''t use it! I think it can be cute, though. I can see it in my head, being cute, with the words sort of lolly-popping around the image. You know, the spiral effect.

I also have wide ribbon with the "love is patient, love is kind" section of I Corinthians that I''m planning on putting across the top of them. But then, none of this has been worked with yet, as I have no reason to be making anything.

I live in NC, and I brought ALL my scrapbook stuff with me to Paul''s, in GA, for specifically working on today, while he was at work. So much for that. But I might do some tonight. He likes to watch. Silly, huh?

Okay, ball time with puppy.

Paul just called. Asked me to pretty, pretty please stay off this site. I did good and didn''t leave the forum, but he asked me to go, and not to come back.

If he''s asking you to stay off, it''s probably for the best. Also, I''m proud of you for listening to us regarding where you''re "allowed" to look.
1.gif

Fortunately, from what you''re saying you won''t have too much of a wait left. Be sure to come back once he''s proposed and give us all the details! You seem like such a sweet, wonderful girl, and it would be great to have you back here eventually.

Good for you for not caving, and looking around!
Please come back and vent here anytime! It''s sometimes the only way to stay sane!

It''s a beautiful day here in FL!!!

But I''m stuck in a conference call....

BF went to the gym and I decided to log back in to say hello!

Hey mandarine -- we need im''s on here or something. I finally got pics posted of the pear in my other thread and there aren''t many of us around today, so would you mind giving them a looksee?

Thanks!

Also, I think fisher may have taken her bf''s advice to leave (I hope she''s not being bad and lurking!)

Haha! This is one of the cutest threads I''ve seen on PS! Gosh we girls are sneaky, aren''t we? Good for you Fisher for controlling your curiousity. It will be worth so much more once he finally proposes and you are surpised out of your mind!
