I posted in the past couple of weeks about that gorgeous Cymbeline dress, but today I went to a different bridal shop and found, without a doubt, "THE ONE"! I felt like a 1950''s continental princess - that''s the best way I can describe it! Unfortunately I wasn''t allowed to take photos, but I will be able to once I put down my deposit.

The dress is by Monique L''Huillier (whom I adore) and is, like the Cymbeline, a few different pieces! Because it''s mix-and-match I haven''t yet been able to find a photo online, but it''s the full organza skirt with a few stylistic poufs, and then a gorgeous lace shirt (hooks up the front, v-neck, delicate cap sleeves) tied with a long satin bow. When I tried all 3 parts (or 4 parts, if you count the bustier underneath) the whole package was just stun-ning! If I do say so myself!!! Then we added a tiara and a broach for the bow, and I nearly fainted with happiness. I felt so spectacular - so WOW! I just had to share my excitement with you!!!

My mom is here in London for Christmas, so I''ll take her to the store and order then. I know she''ll just love it! I''ve still got the fittings issue to contend with - will be living in the US by then but can come back here a couple of times next summer for the fittings - but otherwise I''m just so thrilled!!

Lhullier is my absolute favorite wedding gown designer...You''re so lucky to be able to wear an original! Congrats...

Krissie, I tried on that exact combination the first time I looked for gowns and it was beautiful! I love the combo and I LOOOOOOVED the lace cap sleeved top, especially with the sash!!!

What color sash are you going with? The boutique I went to only had champagne and a darker shade that she called "toffee", I think. Are you doing something neutral or going with some color??

I love it! You're going to look fantastic!

ETA: the runner-up to the dress I got was a cymbeline--I loved the Parisian design.

Yay! I''ve just called around the US and found a shop near where we will be moving that has that dress! So I will just order it in the US, so that I can do the fittings, etc. there without having to fly back to London twice next summer! I feel great about this!
