Honeymoon - Mexico

So we are trying to plan our honeymoon to mexico. Do you guys have any sites that you prefer to use to search for vacation packages? OR do you prefer to use a travel agent?

Money is our main concern at the moment. We definitely would like to stay at a top notch hotel but we are trying to figure out the best way to find a good deal.

I used tripadvisor to choose a hotel and Orbitz and Expedia to price things out, then I took it to a travel agent and they matched the price for us. We are staying at Excellence Riviear Cancun in a month and can''t wait!

Just curious, why didn''t you book through orbitz or expedia? Should I avoid booking online?

I never used a travel agent before my honeymoon, but was so stressed with wedding planning and all that goes with that, that I just wanted someone else to do all the work... Also, when I book, we definitely go budget travel - and I wanted a more luxurious feel - even though we were still on a budget. The travel agents have deals with the various resorts and get you upgrades and whatnot... we could not have been happier with the trip our agent got us!

I agree, my honeymoon would be just about the only time I''d use a travel agent -- particularly if they can match online prices. They''ll make sure everything is correctly booked, and if something happens to go wrong, you want someone knowledgeable on your side who can pull some strings to fix things.
