I want to depart from Newark..Sept 3rd or 4th...
First thought was Hawaii....
Second A Mediterranean Cruise...
Third Cabo San Lucas...
Fourth Bora Bora...

I''m all over the map and can''t seem to narrow it down...
I need all the help I can get...

Linda

Bora Bora for sure

I always thought Bora Bora would be fantastic... and probably not the kind of trip you''d take unless you had a great reason and some genuine quality time to spend there, which makes it perfect for a honeymoon!

I had orginally wanted bora bora but I can get the 10 days off that I think I would need to really enjoy bora bora and moorea. So I''m saving that trip. We are going to La casa que canta in Xiutananeo (sp?) www.lacasaquecanta.com It is gorgeous, has gotten great reviews....so check it out! We were torn between there and the one and only palmilla. It was a tough call but all the reviews about the one and only say a round of drinks averages $50!!! in mexico!!!

I''m also stuck between Hawaii and Tahiti/Bora Bora. I know that the latter is a lot more expensive, but my fiance has never been out of the country (!) so it might be nice to do something a tad more exotic. I''m interested to hear the experiences of anyone who''s been to both. Thanks!

peony- i think mara went to both on her HM.

sorry i''m not more help, lynnbesos. i am curious to hear people''s experiences and suggestions too.

I am all for traveling out of the country, but I don''t think I would do it. Honeymoons should be relaxing, and I just don''t want anything that will stress me out. Customs, different languages, etc. However, tahiti sounds wonderful and it would probably worth any additional effort.

I would not take a cruise though...unless I could get a great room. I hate cruiseship standard rooms...talk about unromantic!

I know Hawaii sounds so "typical" for a honeymoon destination, but it must be for a reason. My boyfriend and I love to travel internationally, but we are considering Hawaii for our honeymoon. I have never heard anyone come back Hawaii who hated it....

For some reason for my FI and I the honeymoon was almost the hardest part of the wedding planning!

All of your choices are great! We are going to be staying at the One and Only Palmilla in Cabo. We had gone back and forth from Bali (staying at two different Four Seasons), Costa Rica (Four Seasons), Bora Bora (there is a new St. Regis opening up in July). Our request for Bali was turned down by the military, which was our first choice. We narrowed it down to Cabo because it is only a 2 hour plane ride from San Diego, plus we have never been there.

If you decide on Hawaii, try to visit two islands. We were in Hawaii last year for 10 days and that is where we got engaged! We stayed at the Princeville Resort in Kauai and the Four Seasons on Maui. You can''t lose with either one of those hotels in my opinion! How many days do you have?

I definately think hawaii is a great choice. The reason we didnt consider it is because we spent 10 days in Maui last summer and as wonderful as it was, we wanted to go somewhere we had never been. I havent been to the other islands but Maui is amazing.

nicole, your staying at the one and only. what a great choice. A friend of mine went on her honeymoon there last summer and says it was the most relaxing and amazing place ever. They only left for dinner one night. They loved the pool and the sunglass butlers! ENJOY!

Have you guys thought about someplace like Peru? My FI and I traveled there last fall and had an amazing time. It is really inexpensive there so you can afford to splurge on a nice place. To me, there is nothing more spectacular and romantic than wandering around the ruins of Machu Picchu and exploring every nook. The scenery is SPECTACULAR!

I really prefer locales off the beaten path.... of course Hawaii is nice too!

Msflutter,
Thanks so much! I am looking forward to it! It does seem rather expensive but I think it will be worth it! We love to travel and last time when he came home from Iraq we did our blowout hawaii trip. This time when he comes home in June we aren''t going anywhere so we are going to splurge in October for our honeymoon! The place you are staying is gorgeous too, I love the pic on the front page of the infinity pool!

I''m terribly amused by the fact that that the infinity pool is where the opening of When a Man Loves a Woman was filmed.

we''re doing an all inclusive in Curacao. and it''s ferry distance from aruba, so we''ll go there for a day too, probably.

entire package: $1308 for BOTH OF US! :) (except airfare -- which obvoiusly wasn''t cheap.)

and that''s for an ALL INCLUSIVE SUITE! :)

Oooooh- I LOVE all the places you considered!! I too have heard wonderful things about o&o in Cabo. You''re gonna love it!

We''re also going to Mexico- Costa Careyes to be exact. It''s totally off the beaten path, about 2 hours south of Puerto Vallarta, 1 hour north of Manzanillo. The resort we''re staying at is part of the Starwood Luxury Collection. I can''t wait!

I definately want to relax....and enjoy myself....
Peru sound like a wonderful place to visit I have never been there...Machu Pichu sounds divine....
I guess it''s hard for me to make up my mind since I am a travel agent and I plan trips for soo many people that when it comes down to my trips, I get so picky...
any volunteers for a travel coordinator...
