I''m undecided about whether to stack my cake tiers directly one on top of the other, or...

To have those big separators that are placed in the middle so you can put flowers round them - disguising the seperator.

I''m not to fussed about pillars as they look a bit fussy for my taste.

I''ve also seen cakes where the bottom two layers are stacked on each other and the top layer is seperated.

So, what are you guys doing/have done? Pics would be good!

Hi Pandora :) My four tiers of my cake will all be stack onto each other - no space between them.
The tiers which are separated and have the flowers between them are just not taste - I think they look beautiful, but I love the look of the cake as one-big-together-cake.

My good friend who got married two weeks ago had a four tier cake with flowers between each layer and it was beautiful. I''ve also seen the cakes with the bottom two layers together and the top layer separate. I think any way you have your cake, it will be beautiful! It''s cake! How can it NOT be awesome! ha!

My cake had the two bottom tiers on top of each other and two top tiers on top of each other, with the pillars between second and third layers. Then, there were smaller cakes circled around the main cake with ribbons and beads encompassing them. I had never seen anything like it before. My aunt (cake decorator professional) made the cake for me. I can''t seem to find pics on my computer, and my scanner is tempramental so I can''t scan the hard copies. The tier diameters were something like 8",10" then 14", 16". And the smaller cakes were 10".

I really wanted a tall cake, but couldn''t see breaking the budget for an extra layer when we don''t even need one. So we''re doing three tiers with a layer of flowers in between each cake layer. Our cake design is really simple, just swiss dots, so the flowers are really going to be the main decoration!
