How can I take Diamond photograh by Sony P 10 Digital Camera

Can any one tell me how to take photgraph of diamond by P 10 Sony Digital camera. It is 5 Mega pixel camera with macro mode still I am not able to adjust it.

I have found that in macro you need to be about 6 inches at least back from it or it cannot focus. I don't know why that is. YOurs might be different.

I actually use a magnifying glass and loupe to get better bigger shots, macro mode or not. It helps measureably.

It's tricky. Ill definitely give you that. I think by daylight near a windeow is the best light, it cuts flash down.

For loose diamond photo's you can take the pink plastic reflector out of your ideal-scope and use the lens - you may not need to use macro in that case?
