How come these jade beads are strung so tight and don’t hang right?

I’ll have to take a pic of me wearing it. It doesn’t hang in a perfect U shape, it has some kinks almost from being beaded so tight and not heavy enough I guess.

I feel like maybe it will loosen with time but anything else I can do?DC6C127D-0CF9-4B04-9367-AB6CE311AE6C.jpeg

As someone who's strung a lot of pearls and gemstone beads, I have two observations. First, yes, it appears they were strung quite tightly. But if the thread is natural silk, they will definitely loosen with time. Play with them a little too (by using straightening motions). Second, the knots look large. I wonder if they double knotted them? That could be the culprit. Nevertheless, the beads are beautiful! And if you're really unhappy with them, it shouldn't be very costly to restring. Good luck!

Boy they sure are pretty!! I don't know if I would weigh them down, per se. I think I would just keep playing with them and also try to wear the strand directly on the skin (natural oils can help loosen the thread). Hold the necklace up (clasped) with one hand (so both sides are hanging down forming a U shape at the bottom). Use your other hand to keep running over the length (gently pulling) from the clasp all the way down to the U. Also try gently pulling two beads at a time to tighten the knots. This will give slightly more room for each bead between the knots. I suspect a few things happened here... they strung the beads too tightly (which, honestly, they should be quite tight), and then they may have used too thick a thread. Again, if it's natural silk, the kinks should fall out with time. If it's nylon, you may elect for a restring down the round if you can't get it to lay flat. Good luck!

Ok you guys I did what to me felt crazy but totally worked- I pulled the knots super tight to make more room between the beads and now it hangs beautifully! Will post pics later. Thanks for listening to me whine! Can’t believe I didn’t solve this on day one haha. Also can’t believe they send them out like this! Ah well. It’s all solved now.
